While taking a look at an old hard disc I found this photo taken in Kabul in March 2002. We distributed stationery and other items to a girls' school, making them very happy. These smiling girls managed to get education but their daughters will not. Nothing to say.

At the end of the FWW there was a big popular interest in the US about Turkey due to discussions about Armenian mandate. Today this photo popped up on my screen while looking for something. It immediately clicked some bitter memories. I was a UN military observer in Abkhazia in 2000-2001. With the start of each mandarin harvest season the violence would reach to its peak. As if mandarin was a kind of narcotic drug
