I am unironically offering that. We have a guest room, would be willing to host you for a night or two if that helps. 😄

I went last week and it's amazing! Very interesting choices like adding both the Twin Towers and the Freedom Tower, but it's a really amazing homage and testament to commitment. My biggest question walking out though was how did he store all this while he was working on it?

Will you be in NYC on October 19th? (Possibly for RevenueCat's App Growth Annual. 😸) Well I'll be hosting a hackathon at Pursuit's headquarters, and the theme is building for NYC! We'll have teams of pros and builders from our program making cool products using NYC's open APIs.

Not only will it be a fun night with free food and drinks, but if you build something cool and win you'll walk out with Claude/Codex subscriptions or API credits to use for your next side project. Spots are filling up fast so sign up today!

Happy first day of spooky season 2026 to all!

It only took six weeks to get there — software is moving very fast.

I've gotten so many texts from normal
people asking "is the Clawdbot hype real??"
And it's still not gonna hit 99.99% of
people, but I'm surprised at how much
regular people have asked me about it. The
real reach will be when Claude and OpenAl
for when they do more safely integrate
something like this into their agents, so this
is basically free research for them.

Many technical people are missing that regular people have discovered Claude Code and are using it to build amazing things. This is an incredibly important moment — and I don't want people to underestimate how many assumptions about code and who can code need to change. 🌐 build.ms/2026/1/19/th...
A man who runs a CNC milling business built agents that generate leads for jobs in his local area, and even created his own MCP server to interface with his CAD software.

He also wrote a personal message to the podcast hosts:

I really want people in my demographic to understand that this isn't "I asked ChatGPT to write an email or to generate an image that has the correct spelling." This is different to me, I built my own business infrastructure from scratch with an Al pair programmer, despite having zero formal training and a high school education.

Agentic coding tools are starting to make the act of building software easier, cheaper, and more accessible. Predicting the direct impact is tough for now — but I would be very worried if I was a consumer-facing SaaS tool. (Really)

AI Agents Are Starting To Eat SaaS (Really)
AI is making it cheaper and easier for anyone to build custom software solutions. The changes from this shift will be drastic, especially for SaaS companies.

When I have 6 hours to focus at work the results from my AI-assisted coding are amazing, even working in a less familiar language. But when my time is split across projects or meetings the quality of output drops dramatically. Why? For the same reasons that would quality software development harder.

Joe Fabisevich @mergesort.me · 28/09/2026
I've never put in less effort to deliver high-quality working products, while at the same time having more unfinished side projects than ever. This post does a great job explaining why that schism can occur, since the side projects rarely reflect *my* care or values. seangoedecke.com/human-ai-par...
That doesn't mean I can leave the Al
alone. Purely vibe-coding at work
produces awful outputs. But they're not
awful because they're bad code, they're
awful because they're in bad taste: code
that is not maintainable, that trades off
important requirements in order to satisfy
made-up ones, that contradicts the long-
term strategy for a feature or service, and
so on.
In other words, my primary value is not
that I help the Al write better code, it's
that I align the Al with the values of my
organization. Human-Al partnerships
are for alignment, not capability.Frontier models are misaligned to the
working programmer. They are obsessed
with a set of behaviors that presumably
satisty their RL grader: writing enormous
block comments above functions,
producing hundreds of useless unit tests,
adding little bits of text all over websites
they design, and so on. Working with
agents is about noticing and wrestling
with those behaviors. That's why my
prompting advice is to explicitly talk
about your high-level values: it's an
attempt to head off obvious
misalignment.Alignment is also more context-
dependent than capability. Working code
is working code, no matter what (which is
partially why it's comparatively easy to
train for). But aligning to a company's
technical values is different from
company to company, as any software
engineer who's switched companies
knows. It can almost feel like relearning
the job. So training an aligned coding
model doesn't just require hitting the
exact right set of values, it requires
creating a model that can adapt on the
fly to a wide range of possible values.

This is more people having realizations that a lot of the economy is powered by inefficiency. If everything acted as a perfectly efficient market there would be no opportunity for the arbitrage that underpins the success of many industries. (See: healthcare, higher education, much of D2C, etc.)

As best as I understand it (meaning I went to tankathon.com 10 minutes ago to read up on the rules), ties are broken by who had the worse record last year. The Mets had the worst 2025 record amongst all three of those teams, so they are locked into the fifth best lottery odds.

Those two photos were from the same spot, facing different directions. And as I walk down the street it seems like everyone in NYC is out right now staring at the sky. Really big fan of this weird spooky energy.
A cityscape at dusk, with a deep purple and orange sky filled with wispy clouds. In the foreground, train tracks stretch across the scene, and buildings are silhouetted against the glowing horizon. A sign reads, “NEW YORK CITY.”

I have no idea what's going on with the sky right now, but it's a real vibe up there.
A low-angle view of tall buildings lining a sidewalk at dusk. The sky is pink and purple, and parked cars are visible beside the path. A sign reads, "BAY VIEW."A tilted street scene at sunset, with a bright orange and yellow sky and a tall pole. Cars are parked along the curb, and buildings line the road. A traffic light shows "YELLOW".
