No, I'm describing that campaigns should run on broad outlines, and everybody knows the big differences between the parties by now, if they are paying even a moment of attention. Details are attack points for dishonest opponents who have no desire for the program at all.

You either do what Trump did, and call your opponent a bum while denying knowledge of your detailed plans to end the republic. Or, you call your opponent a bum while quietly making broadly popular plans that will inevitably be unpopular among people who think each went too far or not far enough.

Well, 75% x 75% x 75% = 42% Multiple, specific plans, even when each is overwhelmingly popular, equal a losing campaign. Especially in today's environment where every issue seems to be a deal-breaker.

How would losing the 2nd and/or 8th largest American city keep our country safe? This man is deranged.

I mean, "now owned" is just incredibly weird wording. Probably because the author couldn't claim "became owned". Don't make me call shenanigans.

mere mortal @mere--mortal.bsky.social · 21h
This text looks super-suspicious. "40% of Norway's wealth was now owned from abroad" elides the before / after comparison. What percentage was owned from abroad before, compared to the 40% after?

Yikes, is that the abstract or the introduction? Also too, learn how to use the return key.

Great advice. They come for the trade unionists? “This doesn’t actually have anything to do with me”

Hey, it's not made up, it's a "model". Oh, and pay no attention to the long-term morbidity effects in terms of health expenditures and quality of life (what is a sense of taste and smell worth?) behind the curtain.

If you like executions and are a Christian, you are lying about one of those two things.

Everything I don't like is bad, and all bad things are the same. Therefore, socialism is foreigners taking your job and boy playing in girls' sports.

This seems almost right. I think of it as positive vs negative freedoms. Positive means I am allowed to do anything that makes me happy. Negative means that you are not allowed to do something that makes me unhappy. In-group gets both types of freedom. Similar to the two definitions of licence.

Always be yourself. Unless you can be a Stormtrooper extra in a Star Wars movie or an rigged-up alien in a Star Trek episode. Then be that instead. Unless you can be Batman. Then be Batman.

The Republican party is so utterly non-meritocratic that even the smart people in it have to pretend to be stupid in order to succeed. Don't believe me? Let me draw your attention to Senator Foghorn Leghorn and Speaker I know nothing and we're going on two-months vacation again.

In these four hundred years of life, the most important thing I've learned about being A Good Guy is making sure that the lady is safer when I'm there compared to if I were not there.

It is truly embarrassing how proud I am of this joke. It not only works on every level, but it got "I Feel So Good" out of my head that had been bouncing around there all morning.

Always and forever. I remember Clooney remarking about how can people rank art, and Hoffman had a similar opinion on the matter. A lot of people in the movies are doing their best, and then another lot of people are judging them. It is super weird, and always goes over the scheduled time.

And I mean, I don't even care. Give the players some cash, hell, I couldn't survive college without walking-around money from my parents. I get it. The thing that sends me into a rage is hearing stories about players not having to take classes, that's the true theft.

Remember watching my buddy play Star Wars Galaxies for hours on end. Wondering if he's laser-sword fighting against the Sith. But no, he was mining resources and creating materials to sell. Hours upon hours. Bonkers stuff, and that was a long, long time ago in a Galaxy far, far away.

Alright, I'm utterly against the government executing people, because once we execute an innocent person (which we have), we become the murderers whom we have decided are worth executing. But even an amateur can do a morphine overdose, and carbon monoxide is just a face mask.
000
mere mortal @mere--mortal.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Morphine or carbon monoxide. But the executions are meant, on purpose, to be violent and / or painful. So it's bullets, electrocution, painful injections, nooses, blades, and anything else a sadistic ruler could imagine.

Wait a second. The Redcoats are the British, who are our friends. The communists are the Chinese (or North Korea), and Trump loves their leaders. The Islamists are Saudi Arabia, and Trump loves their leader. What in the actual fuck is he talking about?

Hawks, Hawkeyes, same thing. Bucks, Buckeyes, same thing. These tedious details don't matter unless the witness confuses them (he did not), in which case it is perjury and lying to Congress and we gotcha. Send him to The Hague! No, seriously, he did some really good work there.
