Las week, Menzies hosted the Territory Kidney Care (TKC) Summit in NT Parliament House. With all NT Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services now participating in TKC, partners came together to reflect on progress and strengthen kidney care across the Territory.

New research from Menzies & Institut Pasteur du Cambodge shows encouraging progress towards malaria elimination in Cambodia. Using Menzies-developed vivaxGEN assay, researchers analysed Plasmodium vivax samples & found evidence to support reports of falling malaria case numbers.

We’re proud to be working with Pintupi Homelands Health Service and the Pintupi Community to better understand the impacts of climate change on wellbeing. Thanks to a MRFF grant, this project will uncover the key mental health concerns of community & co-design culturally safe support tools.

Just Published | New research led by Menzies’ Anjana Rai is helping strengthen efforts to eliminate malaria in South Asia. Published in The Journal of Infectious Diseases, the study used DNA analysis to track how the malaria parasite Plasmodium vivax spreads within & across borders.

Shout out to Edwin Sutanto ahead of World Malaria Day. Now in the second year of his PhD under Menzies Prof Sarah Auburn and Dr Steven Kho, Edwin is investigating Plasmodium falciparum, looking at its genetic diversity and how variations of the parasite persist, even when using current treatments.
