I just turned 60, no big deal. But when I recently read about an 18(!)yo whisky, distilled in 2008(!) I really thought wtf, 2008, this is barely legal whisky 😵. But wait, here's the thing. Tonight I have a 25(!)yo dram in my glass, distilled in the 2000s... I suddenly feel old... 😂🥃

Perhaps the youngest member of the #grainman collection, this 2006 #Invergordon is rather tasty nonetheless. At 12yo it had a wine cask finish to add some more depth to the lovely grain notes.

Received this stunning bottle as a gift from my dear friend Bernadette today. One of just 100 bottles filled for the Whiskyschiff fair in Luzern. A truly amazing peated Arran with a magnificent flavour profile. It really has everything we love and cherish in #Arran whisky ❤️🥃😋

I love to drink whisky. But, I admit, I'm also a collector 🤷. #inchmurrin has always been a favourite and I totally adore the #marshall amp releases. There were just 3 missing in my collection, so what are the odds of finding 2 of those in a recent auction? My lucky day, it seems. Just one to go 🥃❤️

Three top drams from #Laphroaig. The 2024 Càirdeas 10yo probably shows the most of the original distillery character, lovely medicinal peat. The 2025 Lore CS is well balanced, jammy and unmistakably Islay. For me though, that SMWS 29.305 is next level. Such a gorgeous dram. 🥃❤️

Time for a Laphroaig triple. That SMWS 29.305 blew my mind and ended up being my personal favourite dram of 2025. But it's almost gone, so a successor has to be found. Laphroaig's recent offer on this Càirdeas duo came in really handy, let's kick it off whith the Lore CS, yummy... 🥃❤️ #whisky #islay

Next up #birthdaydram is this #Blackadder Raw Cask 1966 Tullibardine. Distilled a few weeks after I was born, bottled at 36yo. Tbh, this won't be my favourite dram tonight. Despite reasonable ABV it needs water to tone down the sharp domestic cleaner notes. Still, a piece of history nevertheless 🥃❤️

First #birthdaydram of the evening, a 1966 Inchmurrin from the #LochLomond distillery which coincidentally started production just three weeks before I was born, so this is a whisky from the very first spirit runs. It's a mild (40% ABV) dram with typical old school notes, very charming and tasty 🥃❤️

It's not official, but there's a rumour that the (current) Loch Lomond distillery turns 60 today. As a big #inchmurrin fan, of course I must celebrate a bit, with this 1966 dram. The bottle was intended to be opened on MY 60th, but since that's only a few weeks ahead, let's have a first taste... 🥃❤️

Amazing what time and O2 can do to a #whisky. This @bimber was cracked for a recent tasting I gave. It was a decent dram, very fruity but also wild. It ended 5th (of 5) at the end of the evening. But those two factors have turned it into a very tasty dram indeed and now I'll be sad when it's gone 🥃❤️

The latest incarnation of #JackWiebers #ClassicOfIslay range, a (rare) age statement released specifically to celebrate #DeinWhisky 's 10th anniversary. It's a real belter, peaty and meaty. There are no clues re distillery, but I'd bet on Laga. Yummy 🥃❤️
