i like alot of the mechanical explanations they're doing in the game to give the world more lore and context, havent fought the real andross yet to see if its more like this or not. at the very least i appreciate that he is a horrible giant fleshy head and not a silver robot like zero

Finally got these guys armored up 💪 (and lack thereof)

basic soldier enemy for project phantom limb.
left is a flimsy variant with minimal clothing,

Some materials get harsher highlights if im trying to create a focal point like the area just below the helmet in the armored example. Or more condensed detail areas for the same effect (lotsof contras is attention demanding) and makes areas feel more complex and protected.

i sample alot of my surfaces before painting in the detail work, there's a bunch of overlays to convey the differences between cloth and metal etc in my work, and different values of glow dodge based highlights.
