Every so often I'll look at my channel analytics and, even though I'm a tiny content creator, I'm still happy with the numbers. Thanks to everyone for stopping by!

What could possibly go wrong having an AI you don't control use your voice to respond in a manner you don't control. Surely no youtube comments have ever been written with the sole purpose to entice an ill-advised response.

Not sure how to feel about this -- the dev is utilizing an LLM to generate the voice acted content while paying a licensing fee to the actor and letting the actor retain all rights to it. I assume they aren't paying standard in-person rates and also cutting out all the production/studio costs.

Friendly reminder to my fellow youtube creators -- at some point YT automatically turned on AI slop, so I've turned it off in various settings. "Video quality enhancements", "third-party training", and "Automatic dubbing" in the screenshots below.

Like it or not a game's price sets expectations. A game with a base price plus a subscription fee sets even higher expectations. Players leaving negative reviews because your game does not live up to the expectations you set in their minds does not a "review bomb" make.

It's funny that sometimes I don't feel like a variety streamer and yet here we are.

A portion of the steam year end numbers for my account. 577 achievements versus a platform median of 13; 117 games played versus a platform median of 4; longest streak of 44 days versus a platform median of 6. 64% of the games I played were released in 2024 versus 15% platform wide.

In the spirit of end-of-year stuff, I thought I'd rank the games I've personally played this year. Let's be clear though, my opinions don't matter in any way and you should just enjoy whatever you enjoy! 😀

Rule one: I only include games I've played in 2024 for at least 3 hours. Rule two: Games cannot be 'S' rank if I did not or have not finished the main story. Rule three: Cyberpunk 2077 is not included because of technical issues. Rule four: Ghost of Tsushima isn't included because this year marks my second playthrough. 'S' rank: Sleeping Dogs. 'A' rank: Satisfactory, Core Keeper, Grim Dawn, Horizon Forbidden West, Planet Crafter, Remnant From The Ashes, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. 'B Plus' rank: Last Epoch and Diablo 3. 'B' rank: Heroes of Hammerwatch, Path of Exile, Path of Exile 2, LEGO Horizon Adventures, River Town Factory, The Plucky Squire, and Bad 2 Bad Apocolypse. 'C' rank: Dragon Age The Veilguard, Star Wars Outlaws, and Tunic. 'D' rank: Yakuza Like A Dragon, Atlas Fallen Reign of Sand, and The First Descendant.

So just discovered an interesting Steam bug -- when you preload a game and it starts unpacking at a crazy slow speed (20 MB/s to an SSD), just restart steam and restart the install and suddenly it is back up to full speed:

Been tinkering with the game engine off-camera and I still don't have the model's textures completely loading but I do have a bit more loaded. I'll keep toying with it, but will likely be iterating more on it on stream.

I rarely look at analytics, but some friends have asked, "How's YouTube streaming lately?" It's pretty good; I'm happy with it!
