@puddlespityparty.bsky.social was also pretty great at Red Rocks this evening. He made a real meal of Kevin Costner!

@alyankovic.bsky.social put on a great show at Red Rocks tonight. Best set of lungs in the biz, I didn't see him gasping for air even once!

@thevideogamelibrary.org How about this thick tome covering the history of CRPGs, Dungeons & Desktops?

@thevideogamelibrary.org ...which brings me to The Lucasarts Chronicles. Some really great behind-the-scenes info, and history of the company. Maybe a bit more focus on Star Wars games than suits my taste, but worthwhile and well put together.

@thevideogamelibrary.org More comics...Dark Horse's four-part adaptation of one of my all-time favorite games, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. #lucasarts

@thevideogamelibrary.org Speaking of pack-ins, DC also published a few (4, maybe?) of these Atari Force mini-comics. There was also a newsstand run of 6 issues.

@thevideogamelibrary.org There was run of 3 (I think) Swordquest comics published by Dynamite in 2017. These are not the same as the pack-in comics from DC in 1982.

@thevideogamelibrary.org Do you have this one? I wasn't certain it was based on the game when I picked it up, but then I saw the first page...and the copyright notice =)

L'Empereur (1991) by Koei didn't get quite as much play in our house as BKoAC, but I liked that it supported the AdLib sound card. #bigboxpc

Bandit Kings of Ancient China (1989) by Koei. I do not exaggerate when I say that my Mom has thousands of hours into this game. She played it for a decade. Lately, she's been obsessed with Frostpunk (8887 hours) Anybody else grow up with a gamer mom? What did she like to play? #bigboxpc

I don't recall spending much time playing the campaign, but I burnt countless hours setting up tracking shots of airplane fly-bys and explosions and watching the replays. Disney's Stunt Island (1992) #bigboxpc

Did you know that Cliff Johnson self-published a sequel to his 1987 classic The Fool's Errand? He sold it on his web site starting in 2012. It is no longer available for purchase. #bigboxpc

Guardians of Infinity: To Save Kennedy (1988) by Paragon Software. Brilliant concept, but a difficult, frustrating game that doesn't serve the inherent promise of the premise. I still love the creativity and only wish I could go back in time to deliver the devs some modern design lessons. #bigboxpc

Wilderness, A Survival Adventure (1986) by Electric Transit. I like this folio-style packaging with the thick, detailed, integrated manual. This is the MS-DOS release.

Might as well stick with Interplay. Here's 1993's Rags to Riches. The legendary Tim Cain was the lead programmer on this one. #bigboxpc

Battle Chess 4000. When you really need something to show off that new Super VGA card. #bigboxpc

I can't say I remember much about Battle Chess 2, beyond the fact that it is not Western Chess, but the Chinese game, Xiangqi. I don't think I spent as much time with this as the first one.

My son has been into chess recently, which prompted me to dig up my old Battle Chess boxes. This is the rare (or so I believe) VGA-in-a-square-box version. #bigboxpc
