It was worth going in to work for ‘lasagne day’ 😋

I hope it causes you a giggle to know I turned up to work today thinking I had my glasses with me but couldn’t find them anywhere. Finally found them in the footwell of my car. But not before I spent half a morning looking like this…

Tonight’s sketch - 3 days left! Mr P found this old tin lid y’day, buried amid some concrete towards the back of our garden where he has been digging to re-do the surface there. Seems these are from the 1950s (our terrace was built in the 1920s) - priced at nine old pence (9d)!! Before my time! 🤪

Yes, I was tempted. Very delicious. Sometimes our work canteen comes up trumps! 😋

Today’s daily Sept painting from life… Been a bit ‘meh’ so decided to do a little sketch of my Emotional Support Chicken keyring. He recently went away to provide some comfort to a friend who was going through a tough time but he’s back with me now and needs to be reunited with my keyring. 💕🫶🏻🐤🤗🩷

I made a little watercolour sketch of the brooch I wore today in memory of my friend’s Mum 🫶🏻

Remembered this beautiful lady this morning, now resting with Jesus. 🤍 Praying for comfort, strength and peace for her lovely family and all those who loved her. 🫶🏻 Honoured to have designed the Order of Service. Beautiful services (my first experience of a Catholic service).

Better get to sleep after another day in which I barely touched the sides! 😵‍💫 Up early to work a bit before the funeral of a dear friend’s lovely mum. From our friendship, I learned one of her fave flowers was the forget-me-not. Managed to find this brooch on Amazon (thanks free Prime month).

Fab evening seeing the Illuminated Orchestra: Tribute to Hans Zimmer & Film Favourites. Especially when we bumped into friends who had seats right in front of us!!! 😍 Plus, lightsaber bows during ‘Star Wars’… need I say more…?! 😃

So, at Pilates, we have a loyalty card that gets stamped for every day you attend a class. Today I filled my card, so the prize was a rummage in the ‘pink tat lucky dip’, and Trevor was my prize! 🤣🩷

When you go to an 'Old Skool' style aerobics class run by your Pilates instructor, and everyone gets gifted hot pink leg warmers!!! 🩷😍💃🏼 Loved it! Even with wonky knees (prob damaged them doing it regularly in the 90s!) 😆

Trying to do a sketch a day this month. It’s another dull day in the weather department so inspo was from the Erigeron by the garden path. Their pink & white joviality always brings a smile, even if they’re starting to fade. Maybe the next predicted heatwave will entice them back for a bit!

Wowsers. I’ve been married 5y today. Yes, we had alpacas at our reception - Dave & Pippin! 🦙😁 Still a bit traumatised from the chaos of 2 postponements due to the Covid pandemic. Still need to finish our wedding album. 🫣 Never want to organise a party again! Marriage is hard. Rewarding too. 🙏🏼

We go on cat walks around our area… some we meet are regulars, others one-offs… Tonight’s eclipse haul: 1/ random aloof ginger 2/ a new cat friend (stayed away) and 3/ new cat friend’s very friendly housemate 4/ 4 of the 7 Voids (as we call them - regulars), plus the only tortie among them!

Out painting y’day (day off). I’ve just included the sketches as I wiped the painting (it looked like it has been sand-blasted with raisins #truestory). But I still had a brill day with like-minded people. Progress isn't only measured by achievement, but by discovering what does / doesn't work!

Lovely eve playing with 12 other flautists - picc, alto & bass flutes incl! Mainly members from concert band (a few play diff. instruments). Forgot to get a photo but this was 7 of us doing similar in Aug ‘24. I was bigger here too - but don’t ya gate being on the wide angle edge of a pic! 🤣🙃

Popped over the road, so-to-speak, from my friends’ house for a short walk. Lovely evening. I’ve done zero walking this week but managed four remote Pilates classes! Off to sleeps now as going galavanting at a National Trust for the day! Not been there since May 2018!

Doing Pilates remote is not as fun as doing in the class, but every little helps I guess! We had a directive to wear white and red because of the England game this eve. I remembered I had an old white T-shirt with me. And my gouache paints came in handy! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Excuse the mugshot! 🤪
