William Friedkin was born on August 29, 1935 #BOTD 📽️🎞️🎦🎬 ALWAYS in my top 10 film directors!!!! My favorite: TO LIVE AND DIE IN L.A. (1985) — a kinetic neonoir that takes the ’80s action thriller to new heights of hyperstylized excess. #FilmSky #NeoNoir

B&w engraving of four bats. One is on a ledge, another is about to land. Two are in flight, under a crescent moon, stars and clouds. Trees frame the picture which is signed by the artist who gave it the title 'Bats'

For #RomanSiteSaturday let's go to a huge pile of #trash - Monte Testaccio in #Rome. A huge artificial hill located next to the Tiber River. It was made up of millions of broken amphorae (mostly oil amphorae from southern Spain) during the first three centuries AD www.elnacional.cat/es/cultura/r...

A vast accumulation of broken amphorae pieces, stacked in a cascading formation. The scene has an earthy color palette, with shades of brown, beige, and gray. Light filters in from above, illuminating the top of the pile, while the lower sections remain in shadow.

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library gifted more than 332,000,000 books since it was first created 31 years ago. Somehow I can't help but think the wrong 80-year olds have been taken from us... Dolly Parton felt like America when it was trying to be the place it promised to be. #RIP #DollyParton
