Sometimes you just have to take charge! I did similar for Christmases. Got tired of packing, lugging kids around, forgetting the favorite stuffed animal, having a decidedly NOT magical Christmas... Now I host, get to wake up in my own house on Christmas morning, and it's the best.

The smartest thing I ever did was marry into a family where one brother-in-law is a chef and one brother-in-law has such strong beliefs about proper #thanksgiving food that he just goes ahead and cooks the whole meal himself. Women's labor today is pouring the wine.

Until about four years ago, I'd only eaten canned beans and thought they were "fine." Then someone gave me a bean pot and a bag of Rancho Gordo beans. Now I'm OBSESSED (and your best customer 😂). It really does feel like I'm in on the best secret.
