Matilda girl naps on the couch, hoping for mid-dream belly rubs. Happy #nationaldogday

Maizey dog has been super patient at boarding while my daughter has been recuperating from surgery. Today was the Floof's first day back home. Happy #nationaldogday

This is a white dog. She got skunked, bathed, and then decided to roll in dirt to "help."

Maizey is a Great Pyranees. They are white dogs. In this picture, she is charcoal grey and covered head to toe in dirt after being freshly bathed. She is coming out from behind the snowball bushes. She was not the best dog that moment (but still a very good dog).

Yesterday, my son and I hiked the Narrows at Zion National Park. I cannot begin to name for you all the muscles in my back that hurt this morning.

A side canyon off the Narrows. Steep rock walls along the sides are dark in the foreground and get sunlight as you go deeper into the canyon. Two pine trees towards the back center the photo against a brilliant blue sky.

How does one keep dogs from digging up the dirt I dump into the low spots??

A very muddy Great Pyranees Husky rescue pup. Her white floofiness is covered in brown mud on all four paws and her nose. She does not look apologetic in the slightest

Sentient floof does not need thoughts. Takes up room for more floof.

A Great Pyranees Husky rescue pup hides a tennis ball in her mouth. It is fully visible but don't tell her that.

My doggo is coming home from the hospital, minus one spleen!

Matilda the black flat-coated retriever lays on a wooden floor facing the camera. This was pre-splenectomy.

My dog has a mass on her spleen. They will need to do a splenectomy to find out if it is cancer (prognosis: bad) or something else. My other dog and I are home alone at the moment without her and it is weird. Anyway, send good doggie vibes our way please.

Today I held a dog party at my house. We had four dogs running around like a pack in my backyard. My doggos are ZONKED.

At my house in Ohio, we call this lake season. It is when our backyard temporarily becomes a lake.

I am embarking on a house plant journey. Yesterday, I split and repotted for the first time in my life. I now have little plants everywhere. Also, meet Tony, the ponytail palm.

Tony, the Ponytail Palm, sits in a white pot on the floor in a sunroom. He is just the right height to tempt the dogs to taste the dirt in his pot. Dogs have been informed they are not allowed to eat the dirt or the palm. Dogs are unhappy but are still very good dogs. (No dogs depicted.)

I told the neighbor Things looked suspicious outside She shared the news I kept watch Ever vigilant Another neighbor weighed in We worked together To protect Mom told me to settle down But those squirrels Could be dangerous You don't know for sure What is this neighborhood coming to If we don't?

Snow dog is snuggling into the snow. It is about five inches so far.
