I might have a thing for #butterflies. Sadly, they haven't been as prevalent in our area this summer. Caught this female tiger swallowtail on a coneflower a few years back. They have more prominent red and blue spots on the hind wings than the males. #ColorADay #YellowThu #photography #wildlife #ECK

A typical urban street in Bali. There are two lanes of cars and three additional lanes of scooters crammed onto a narrow road. In the span of a typical block, there are seven or eight larger vehicles, and at least two dozen scooters.

Concrete and stone steps lead up to a glass door in a building covered in vines. There is lush foliage growing in the narrow space between the structure and the sidewalk.

An open-air restaurant has a wall of vines and other foliage growing along the front and around the arched opening into the space. The roof overhanging the space is covered in tiles that have moss growing on them. A tall narrow board is leaning against one side and advertising the menu options within.

My mother got the see the Flying Horse of Gansu twice! Once in China, and again during its tour of the US at the Nelson-Atkins museum in Kansas City, Missouri. This was her chochke as a reminder. It now rests in a place of honor on my bookshelf. #photography #lighting #ECK #artlover
