FGD1 restrains actomyosin contractility to promote suprabasal junction maturation in stratified keratinocytes
Summary: We identify FGD1 as a regulator of suprabasal adherens junction remodeling that restrains actomyosin contractility to coordinate cytoskeletal organization and epithelial tissue mechanics.

Excited to share that our new open access review is out today: “Rho GTPases in cancer resistance: mechanisms, vulnerabilities, and therapeutic opportunities.” This work was led by Amy Beaudin, a PhD student in the lab, who did an excellent job synthesizing a rapidly evolving field.

Rho GTPases in cancer resistance: mechanisms, vulnerabilities, and therapeutic opportunities
Abstract. Intrinsic and adaptive resistance to therapy remain major barriers to effective cancer treatment. Diverse resistance mechanisms, including epithelial-mesenchymal transition, enhanced toleran...

I want to highlight the remarkable experience we had with the PLOS Biology editorial team. Their professionalism and genuinely constructive communication made an enormous difference, especially for an ECI navigating the publication process 😅 . This level of support truly matters.

The Rho GTPase regulator ARHGEF3 orchestrates hair placode budding by coordinating cell fate and P-cadherin patterning in mice
During embryogenesis, cells self-organize into patterns that support tissue-specific functions, but how these collective cellular behaviors are coordinated remains unclear. This study shows that the R...

Hey Bluesky friends, just wanted to give you a quick heads-up—my X (formerly Twitter) account was compromised at the begining of 2025. Big thanks to everyone who reached out to check in! I hadn't realized it sooner since I deleted the app a while back. Appreciate all the concern for my sanity 😉🤯😵‍💫
