Yep. I hiked on Matanuska glacier in 2000 - now you can't get to it from where I accessed it. Portage glacier used to be visible from the lake area, but hasn't been for years. I've been in Alaska since before statehood - the glaciers have receded a HUGE amount. Trump, as usual, is a fucking liar.

From a dog trainer's point of view, I see a handler trying to get the dog to let go (grabbing its ear at one point) but the dog is not releasing. Poor training in that dog. Not enough context to see if the K9 attack was justified or not (what did the guy do, did he have weapons, etc).

I just love the smell of a summer's worth of hot dust on the baseboard heaters when they first turn on (yes, I should dust more often! 😂). Had to figure out the heater in my new (2022) Jeep last night when I went into town. Going from a 2001 vehicle to a 2022 is a definite learning experience.

Interesting idea, but Mom and I were okay. It was my Dad I had difficulty with yet Raven never hissed at him. I've spent decades studying animal behavior but I've never figured put why Mom always got the hiss. She could pet him, pick him up and he would let her, but the hiss came first. Very odd.

Animals can't always judge people's character, despite many people believing this. They do tend to notice little things that we can miss, though, like visual body cues & scent markers. I've never figured out why my cat always hissed at my Mom & only at her. Mom really loved cats. 🤷 It's a mystery.

My Mom adopted an adult tomcat and that cat chased stray dogs off the property for years. It didn't matter how big the dog was, they ran when Hadji came after them. When I'd visit with my 105# German shepherd, Dawson was very respectful toward Hadji because that cat had NO fear. 😄
