I like Greta Gerwig’s work though. I just can’t help thinking there’s someone at Netflix yelling “More colours!! More stuff!!”

Just saw the Narnia trailer. So, is it a requirement the past 10 years for all new fantasy films to cram every square inch of the screen with multi-coloured skittles, glitter, gold, and crystals? Makes me want to make nothing but black & white movies.

Wow, why have I not seen this yet?

Woodblock? Wow, that’s stunning!

This makes me so happy! Machinarium is still one of my all-time favourites, and with a fantastic soundtrack too.

12 years already? Played it through to the end, but messed up my hands from the tension. Love the environments, and the art-of book is fabulous.

Oh my god, what a nightmare! I’m so sorry this has happened to you. Heartbreaking.

This is so incredibly discouraging. All that hard work and dedication to her art, dismissed by morons. I loathe the plagiarism machines so much.

Wow! I have a working Sony Watchman, and have toyed with this idea, but as a retro handheld prop communication device fed from a camcorder off-screen. This solves it! Thank you!

So, did they not understand that “narrative” is in the name of the museum? Do they need a dictionary or something? It’s 2026 and we’re still arguing that fossilized debate of art vs illustration.

Also features my all-time favourite minimal spaceship interior.

I only ever saw it once, peeking over the shoulder of one of my colleagues a few years ago. He asked I wanted to try it, I politely declined. Have not seen it since.

Yeah those opening titles are still my number one of all time. Still gives me goosebumps. And that first episode blew my mind at how different it was from anything else. We need more original sci-fi like that.

Dishonored is still the gold standard in games for me. Dishonoured 2 has two of my favourite architectural levels of all time, Karnaca, and the Clockwork Mansion. Flawless.

Montreal, my hometown is creeping up in prices, but still has some affordable neighborhoods. If you can tolerate brutal winters, it’s a fun city, lots of festivals in the summer too. It would be ideal if we had a coastline though.

N.C. Wyeth always illustrated in oils, and they were big paintings. Saw some of his originals in 2000 and they were jaw-dropping and luminous. This is one of his books I’ve been looking for for ages. Rare and expensive.

Another terrible poll bending the knee to the AI companies. The questions are like “Now that everyone smokes cigars, how many cigars will your company buy, and why do you enjoy smoking?”

Small rough sketches, white on black paper for a change of pace, for my project, The 7th Ring. Getting back into drawing again.

Six more rough panel sketches, white on black paper, exploring sci-fi themed imagery and composition for my personal project, The 7th Ring. people, robots, a rocket ship and the planet Saturn.

Yikes! None of Ralph McQuarrie’s precise geometric details and perspective come through in that version. Book deadline? Temp artwork? Missing file?

Sometimes a small role in a film makes the biggest impact. Courtney Grace's incredible performance in the finale of Disclosure Day was so genuine and moving.

AI CEOs right now are like cigarette salesmen: “Please buy our cigarettes, they don’t affect your health, I swear! If you don’t buy our cigarettes, our company will go bankrupt, so hurry up and start smoking today!”

Mixed feelings. Great set pieces, good acting, took a long time to get to the point. That young news anchor at the end though, best performance of the year.

When rough sketching with pencil, don’t erase. Seeing your missed lines is easier to correct, just make new lines. You can’t fix a mistake if it’s not there to compare to. Eventually you’ll find you don’t need to erase as often. I love rough sketches with all the lines.

Played the original split screen multiplayer games with friends on medium-large crt TVs. Great social interaction. Big flat screen TVs come out? No more split-screen multiplayer games. I’ll never forgive the game industry for that oversight.
