I love the fact there was a reference to this in David Tennant-era Doctor Who. The Doctor asks why Sarah Jane didn't try to repair K-9 and she replies: "It's not like getting parts for a Mini Metro!"

It's starting to spark all sorts of memories now! I think I might have a clip of it with Robert Llewellyn and Craig Charles on the end of a VHS tape of Red Dwarf somewhere. I remember kids kicking "the watcher" and thinking bloody hell, if that CRT pops when it's powered up 😱

I loved that show! I only fairly recently learned that The Little Green Man was played by Laurence Harvey i.e. Human Centipede 2 protagonist and Jago from Knicker Knock Box!

Here I am in 2020 in the flimsiest, most pitful PPE - like so many other NHS staff, some of whom died from the Covid they caught in their hospitals. Tory peer Michelle Mone - who today lost her legal case & must repay the govt £122m - dares to claim she’s been ‘scapegoated’. What, Michelle? 🧵

Well that's the last time I buy Vans trainers. Only had these since May this year, been wearing Vans for nearly 25 years.

'Free spectacular entertainment' which seems to be Lady Penelope, Rab C. Nesbitt in a clown costume and Bob Carolgees. That DOES sound entertaining to be fair! From Channel 4 Oracle 1990.
Teletext page from Channel 4 1990 containing blocky depictions of three people, the middle person is dressed as a clown.

Yeah, it's from a VHS tape from 1989. The programme itself is very 1970s though!

I only worked out fairly recently what the Tyne Tees one is supposed to be! I was so used to the Tyne Tees logo being yellow on a blue background it didn't occur to me that they'd used the 1988 blue on yellow background.

One scene I particularly remember was him dressing up as a woman with a knotted plastic bag for boobs to escape some woman's husband. In typical sitcom rule, another man finds him attractive and ends up popping one of his boobs.

Never had a problem with our actual Time PC but I remember the monitor making a very loud bang and smoke pouring out and Time refusing to believe it was the monitor at fault until I'd "tried it with another PC" took about a month to get a new monitor.

Ceefax 1988. Unfortunately the rest of the carousel was pretty much unreadable but I thought this picture was worth uploading.

Did anyone get an Oracle index card back in the day when they bought/rented a teletext TV? From Channel 4 1988.

It took an Irish journalist, Claire Byrne, to hand Farage’s arse to him on a plate. Depressing not to see more of this in British broadcasting. Anyway, enjoy how the big mouth has nothing to say for once after she plays him some very embarrassing footage…

ITV Oracle November 1988 and a couple of things from Rumbelows. My Mother bought a TV with this 4+4 cover and by the end of the first four years they were unable to fix a persistent standby fault, which a 14 year old me managed to fix and get another 7 years out of the TV...

Teletext VHS recovery from Channel 4 December 1985. I'd never heard of Focus TV and Video Centres before, they were a north west thing, Manchester etc and nothing to do with Focus TV Rental in Scotland. In case you're wondering: £7.95 = £24.67 today £13.95 = £43.29 today

Notice the page numbers in the middle top of the page are "1FD" and "1FE" with a normal TV remote control you would only be able to input 0-9 so possibly stores had a hexadecimal remote or it may have just been accessed via a Fasttext link from a certain page.

It's not 1979 or 1984 as it has Fasttext. Also the Currys logo is the 1988-2008 version. I know it's definitely from 1990 as there are promotions for the forthcoming Italia 1990 World Cup on the tape.
