And the Halloween Tree has reached its final incarnation - for now. I'll probably add more next year :3

I'm still chipping away at the Halloween Tree, but I will say that phase 2 involves these cute little guys :D

I finally decided to turn this little desktop tree into a dedicated, full-time Halloween tree :3 Here's stage one - Bat lights and faerie ornaments!

Now that Crescent has returned to the future, he can tell the timeline has been mended. But in order to change it for the better, it still needs one last nudge. He just needs to find the right lever... megancutler.net/2026/09/free... #MondayBlogs

Hoping to find out this weekend if I can keep the frames of my glasses and just replace the lenses. I'm really hoping I can, because I really like my current frames, they're in good condition, and I don't like the style trend of glasses getting larger x.x My old frames were even smaller than these!

August was another light word month due to working on late pass edits and taking a week off. But it means we're ready for a cascade of words in September :3 #amwriting #WritingCommunity #wordcounts

Popped by the dollar store on my way home to peek at the Halloween decorations. Also hoping to take a trip to Spirit later this weekend since we have to go to the mall anyway. It's the best time of the year :3

Fall colors have arrived on all of the trees... now I'm just waiting for the weather to cool down enough for me to break out my favorite sweater :3

Whenever I order something for another person, the delivery is always swift and smooth. But whenever I try to order something for myself... oh boy, it turns into such a freaking headache 😤

Despite my daily schedule drifting quite badly yesterday, and despite eating dinner 2 hours late... I did manage to get to bed at the usual time. Quite the feat for an unsupervised creative XD

My husband is off white water rafting with his students for the rest of the week, so I have the unenviable task of being a creative with nothing forcing me to keep a schedule until he gets back >.> We'll see if I get to bed before 3AM XD

I've been writing a (clumsy) summary of the Celestial Serenade for my Beta team because 1) I foolishly wrote a new trilogy because my characters wouldn't leave me in peace and 2) I started a spinoff series that needs context. But it's finally finished so the beta can hopefully go out today! 🤞

I kind of like it when watering day for the indoor plants lines up with a rainy day. I have no scientific evidence, but it feels more natural for the plants.

Given how weird our weather has been this year, I did not expect the September rains to show up September 1st and stick around. But also given our current state of burning, I'm not going to complain about the 3-day soak.

The local blood clinics are trying a new thing where you check-in online... except it doesn't actually work. There's no actual button that lets you join the queue. So the receptionists are all annoyed that everyone is showing up without checking in online. Maybe fix your system?

In case anyone is wondering, the smoke is still hanging around. But we have had a few clear days - enough that I was able to re-pot all my indoor succulents and even start shifting the outdoor ones to give them more space. I have to work in little fits and spurts, but it feels nice to get it done!

020

Megan Cutler @megancutler.bsky.social · 07/08/2026

It feels downright apocalyptic outside our house right now. The mountains are gone, swallowed by a sallow grey mist. The light from the sun is orange when it strikes any surface. The air is choked with the smell of ash. And at night when the street lights go on, you can see the smoke swirling.

010

Megan Cutler @megancutler.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

The second big stop on our trip was Aberdeen. And the highlight for this stop was probably Dunnottar Castle. But we didn't do that shore excursion because we have already been there. So instead, we did our own tour around the city as well as some shopping.

The first stop on our big trip was Edinburgh, a city we have visited at least twice before but have always loved. This time, we got to see Edinburgh Castle - which was closed the last time we were there for an event. It was truly an impressive fortress, well worth the visit!
