I played through Return of the Phantom during one of those freaky prairie thunderstorms in June years back. I think about that weird orange-green-sky day about once a week. Cool game, too.

One of my all-time favourite ambiences to create was the coast zone in Little Rocket Lab. Using only one cleverly mapped distance parameter, we were able to transition from a windy upper region to roaring waves to gentle water lapping on the beach. And just listen to those 16-bit seagulls🌊!🍟🦤🌊

Behold! Delicious homemade maple syrup! Experimented with different cooking times/concentrations between batches. I think the lighter batch might be the way to go next time. They're all spectacular. Ate the pancakes without any photographic evidence. They were great.

Ladle, ladle, ladle🎶 This is the primary boiling phase to reduce the sap to a thin, pale amber liquid. After that, into a pot for a final reduction on the stove inside. It's getting sweet already! Next update WILL involve pancakes.

It's kind of springtime! Sort of! That means maple syrup🍁 Trying to use using budget-friendly techniques to collect sap (old milk jugs and rubber hoses). Lucky to have a few hand-me-down metal pails with taps, too. Beauty day. The birds are going insane.

Composing and recording the music for @loonyware.bsky.social's Mushroom Picnic Party was some of the most fun I've had in a while. The whole session felt very laidback and free. Lots of first takes, improvised guide tracks, and goofy experiments made it into the final score.
