Well my local Ace Hardware stopped carrying the coir pots I needed for my Plant Propagation class experiment BUT I discovered they have a "plant rescue" section so now I have this Charlie Brown Christmas tree lookin ass lavender plant.

This is my Compact edition. I don't know if the Shorter is abridged or if they just changed the name, but this Compact is the whole thing printed really small.

I always found it strange how often the staff at the vet office misgendered my late cat because of his pink carrier. His name was Sammy and he was an orange tabby -- most of those are male! As you say, they always apologized (to both of us). And here's a pic, because I have internet manners.

Sometimes I feel guilty about not posting more ICE alerts, that's why I've started mentioning my source more often. I always have stopice open in a tab and it looks like this. They cover the whole country, so you can get alerts for your area too. Check it out, and be safe.

Saw everyone talking about that game Outlier, so I tried it. Put in a few easy words first to see how the game worked .. then I cracked my knuckles and dug in. Can you BELIEVE cepivorous isn't in their dictionary? It means "eating [only] onions".

A list of words used in a game of Outlier, where the goal is to use the letters to enter rare English words.

The list includes: Orgulous, ramulose, wold, fundus, edema, palaver, rondel, apterous, weft, and viral.

I don't always spill fountain pen ink all over myself, but when I do, it's super permanent iron gall ink. Looking forward to explaining to my professor tomorrow that no, my hands did not get crushed in some kind of industrial machinery, I'm just clumsy and nerdy.

"Meemaw, don't you think that's a little extreme?" This is an up to date Google maps image of the other side of the freeway. All of that brown on the top half of the image? Dirt lots where homes, businesses, schools, and churches burnt to the ground less than two years ago. So no, I don't.

At the bottom of the image is the 210 freeway. Starting halfway up the image, the normal visual clutter of buildings gives way to a sea of brown, the lasting scar of the Eaton Fire of January 2026. People died. Thousands of buildings burnt down completely. I will never calm down about this.

My late cat Sammy went deaf in his old age so I had to compensate by getting theatrical with my arm gestures.

This is Pascal*. He's more sheep-shaped when he's standing but size-wise here he is with a whole-ass nine-year-old for scale. *Named after the unit of measurement for pressure, which we didn't realize would be so apt when he was a 5-lb kitten.
