Or you may prefer that your data be hosted by a service in the same region as you, which is a large part of the appeal of services like @eurosky.social. Ultimately, all these different platforms offer people choices on how they experience the social internet.

For example, on @blackskyweb.xyz & Blacksky hosted servers like Medsky, there's larger video size limits than the 3 min limit on Bluesky (although you'd need to access communities domains like medsky.social to view those videos. Our PDS also uses moderation to target medical misinformation.

Think about it like an email service. If you have a gmail account, all your data is hosted by Google. If you have a icloud account, all your data is hosted by Apple. Migrating lets accounts on the Atmosphere like yours choose where your data is hosted. Different services offer different benefits.
