Part 3 of #equanimity's definition: 🌀 Without identifying with sensations 🌀 What does this mean? It’s not about denying sensations or pushing them away. Instead, it’s about recognizing that: "You" are not "your" sensations #Equanimity #Mindfulness #MiCBT #Meditation 🧵1/4

#equanimity At a moment-to-moment level, when we are being equanimous, it’s our *sensations* that we are accepting, with a genuine willingness to feel them as they are … not the other person’s behaviour, the situation we find ourselves in, or the state of the world! #meditation #mindfulness

Equanimity has many definitions, but this one has been the most clinically useful—and personally meaningful—for me. 😊 I'll unpack it over the next few weeks. Let me know your thoughts! #Equanimity #Meditation #Mindfulness #MiCBT
Equanimity = Bringing an equal interest to pleasant, unpleasant and neutral sensations, without reacting to them and without identifying with them.

And one more important tidibit : ) - while continuing to feel them!
