The explanation they ended up going with later was that Zelda only used her powers to change the color of her skin/eyes/hair, but the original artwork makes it clear that Zelda changed her entire body. Their builds are different. Sheik has broader shoulders and is more muscular than Zelda.

Realized some of the characters from FE3H would probably fit into WHA well without having to change their backstories too drastically.

I have a crazy prediction for Fortune's Weave under the assumption that sequel theory is true. Eshmel is Nemesis. Sothis' dialogue implies that she and Eshmel have met at some point in the past, and she mentions wanting Eshmel to "make amends" for something.

Sothis: What's this? Have you forgotten me so soon?

Sothis: I woke you up this once so you can make amends.

When you're such a racist asshole that you won't attend a memorial ceremony for your dead son because a Muslim will be there.

Robert and Elaine Hughes lost their youngest child, Kris, a securities trader at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods on the 89th floor of 2 World Trade Center, the south tower. He would have turned 55 last month.

They’ve attended the annual ceremony, where a bell is tolled to mark the times when the planes crashed and when the twin towers fell and where the names of the 2,977 people killed that day are read out. There were Christians, Jews, Muslims, people of other faiths and no faith. Along with so many Americans, citizens of dozens of other countries were killed too. Politicians have always been at the ceremonies, but Mamdani is making the Hugheses think again.

“This guy, I think, is just an in-your-face type of guy that — for lack of a better word — enjoys this kind of controversy. I’m just not in favor of him being around, so if he didn’t come, I’d say great, we would go. But if he’s going to come, I would venture to say a lot of people might not go,” said Hughes, who is now retired and lives on Long Island.

The grieving father said he disagrees with Mamdani’s politics and expressed anger toward the mayor. “Just the thought of him there rubs me the wrong way,” he said.

His wife, Elaine, said the controversy stirred up by an online petition calling for Mamdani to stay away – which the couple has signed – may keep them away instead.

“Between Mamdani going and the possible protesting that will ensue, I am not sure the additional stress is a good thing for us or any other 9/11 family,” she told CNN.

A small detail I noticed from Eshmel's design is that the different versions of them have slightly different skin colors. Male Eshmel's skin has warmer undertones, while female Eshmel's skin has cooler undertones.

Were the things he did in pursuit of his goal morally correct? No, not remotely. Was his goal itself right, and were his actions ultimately necessary in achieving it? Yes to both.

China was financially backing the perpetrators of the Cambodian genocide around the same time Taiwan was aiding the perpetrators of the Maya genocide. They're not any better.

From the Wikipedia page for the Khmer Rouge:

The Khmer Rouge regime murdered hundreds of thousands of their perceived political opponents, and their racist emphasis on national purity resulted in the genocide of Cambodian minorities. Its cadres summarily executed and tortured perceived subversive elements, or they killed them during genocidal purges of their own ranks between 1975 and 1979. Ultimately, the Cambodian genocide which took place under the Khmer Rouge regime led to the deaths of 1.5 to 2 million people, around 25% of Cambodia's population.

In the 1970s, the Khmer Rouge was largely supported and funded by the CCP, receiving approval from CCP Chairman Mao Zedong; it is estimated that at least 90% of the foreign aid which was provided to the Khmer Rouge came from China.

Esmeralda was revealed to have the Crest of Blaiddyd. Assuming this is a sequel to Three Houses and the writers want to avoid establishing one of the routes as the "canon" one, then she can't be a descendant of Dimitri since he dies on 3 out of 4 routes.

The biggest piece of evidence for Option 1 seems to be this piece of dialogue from Chapter 13.

Dimitri: And you see how that woman...how the Empire cannot be forgiven. That we must wipe them all out until not a single one of them remains...

Annette: Wipe them all out? Umm, I don't think any of us here are suggesting anything that extreme...
