Ben Zweig @medievalben.bsky.social · 27/08/2026I think it's pretty simple: win it all, as much as you can, anywhere and everywhere. 050
Ben Zweig @medievalben.bsky.social · 26/08/2026I once glanced at an interview with Curtis Yarvin and his whole plan for destroying the government and instituting a monarchy was "we'll give people a little payout so they won't make a fuss." Like that was it. That was the depth of thinking. 040
Ben Zweig @medievalben.bsky.social · 21/08/2026Why show sympathy to someone whose existence and self-worth is based entirely on inflicting cruelty? She's an adult. Others are under no obligation to pity her. 041

Ben Zweig @medievalben.bsky.social · 04/08/2026Yes. Nothing easier than organizing facts, especially those from way back, you know, when those facts have date ranges in the thousands of years. 091
Ben Zweig @medievalben.bsky.social · 03/08/2026I love listening to Henry Rollins on KCRW. Eclectic mind and tastes, and he tells you stuff about the artists. 120
Ben Zweig @medievalben.bsky.social · 22/07/2026I'm looking forward especially to the scene that Nolan's wokeness refused to film: when the Thundercats appear to take down Penelope's newest suitor, Skeletor. 040

Ben Zweig @medievalben.bsky.social · 06/07/2026Maybe we are finally done with Platner now? Dude has become a time suck, resource suck, and attention suck from all the bad things republicans do. 020
Ben Zweig @medievalben.bsky.social · 01/06/2026As an art historian I don't think this tells you anything insightful (that I'm aware of and some of the data is very wrong), but as a visualization layer it is pretty cool. #dataviz 020
Ben Zweig @medievalben.bsky.social · 01/06/2026Cosmos worked really well and it was fun to play with some of the vis types like mesh and worm. The dataset itself is fairly straightforward, but I added some more complex logic for searching and filtering that changes the opacity and it gives it a nebula-like look. 120
Ben Zweig @medievalben.bsky.social · 01/06/2026I've become a fan of the webgl world for doing interesting #digitalhumanities data viz with larger datasets for both look and performance - go-tos like Gephi and Sigma.js tend to struggle with 11K nodes and 14K links like here. Cosmos is probably overkill for a smaller set. 100
Ben Zweig @medievalben.bsky.social · 01/06/2026Finally able to build something with cosmos.gl, a program I came across while teaching data visualization this year at Pratt. I have a pretty large network dataset of artists compiled from Wikidata that I often use to test out capabilities. bzweig633.github.io/universe-of-... 130
