Despite a court order to reinstate credentials for CNN, Politico and MS NOW, they have still not regained access to the White House. Meanwhile, members of Chinese state media are present at the White House for President Xi. President Trump said, "I think we have a right to clean out fake news."

Concessions to the American government have not yielded meaningful results for the Canadian economy. The first example of that was cancelling the Digital Services Tax. Foreign streaming giants must contribute to the infrastructure they so greatly benefit from. #SaveLocalNews

It's been a brutal summer for the media sector. Rogers cut 230 media jobs in early July. That was followed by Corus laying off 43 Unifor members as part of Global News' consolidation. This round of cuts brings the total number of Canadian media jobs lost to at least 300, in less than 30 days....3/4

MAP strongly disagrees with this decision. We call for foreign streamers to contribute to a system and infrastructure from which they so greatly benefit. Conceding this type of funding has not proved worthwhile, as we've seen with the cancellation of the Digital Services Tax.
