Also spent about 30 minutes putting this one together. The gunpla-kun dx felt way more chalky than the plastic they used on zakupla-kun here, so I don't know what was changed but I like how cute he is in the runner stand.

A small green robot model kit with an oversized head.

The same robot model kit but on a stand made to look like it is still on printed model kit runners.

Finally getting a bit of time and capacity back for physical hobbies and decided to finish up this guy. I started his legs and torso back in August before surgery and it's been sitting on my shelf half-built and giving me a monoeye guilt trip, but now he's all done! HG Efreet custom (metallic).

A shiny blue and red robot model, standing on a red display base. It had a big sword with a transparent orange blade, and big spiky red shoulder pads.

A vehicle with no doors, no ground clearance, and three whole miniguns just to ensure that the driver's hands aren't on the wheel either. Incredible.

You did a great job with the HA design language here! Like they're all immediately recognizable as Harrison frontline models but also easily differentiated from one another. I really like the big coffin glass cockpit on the larger mech, the faceted helmet/cockpits are so fun mixed with big panes.

Built the HGGqux dom last weekend! Probably the best of the gqux kits to build so far, few stickers to apply and a lot of bulky shapes to contrast the quite silly amount of articulation in some joints. Just look at that shoulder! I'm going to spend three hours just painting the verniers red though.

The torso of the HGGqux Dom, a purple and grey robot model kit, pulling back it's fist for a big punch.

A second view of that punch pose from above, showing the shoulder's ability to swing back and give the model a surprising range of motion for its arms.

The constructed Dom kit, firing its little wrist grappling weapon and shouldering its bazooka. Its legs are each nearly as thick as its already rotund torso.

The thing about getting a lil pulp paperback is they're so easy to share with your friends, so why not get two? I devoured Merynthia’s Master when I first got my hands on it and can say it's one of my favorite Sword & Sorcery shorts I've read, and we love a wretched lil protag named Worm.

Finished assembly on the MG Banshee Norn! The transformation sequence was interesting but also so so stressful lol, no other instruction other than 'pull gently' in order to separate pieces that had fit snug during assembly. Also she is Not meant to stand on her own feet, this girl needs a stand.

The fully assembled MG Banshee Norn, a dark blue robot model kit with luminescent orange psycho frame pieces peeking through the armor where it has enlarged during its transformation.

Finished the legs and beam magnum for the MG banshee and it is surprising how many of it's gimmicks are scaled up versions of the same from the RG, but I still don't know how they expect a few of them to work. Also the beam magnum is supposed to have a clip of 5 packs, but you can use all 16 hehe.

Legs of the MG Banshee Norn under construction. It's a dark blue robot model with a lot of transparent orange parts hidden behind the outer armor to be revealed in a transformation sequence.

The banshee in Unicorn mode standing on its own, fully built but a little wobbly.

Banshee with an HG Gundam Mk2 for scale. She's really tall!!

BEHOLD THE ULTIMATE WEAPON, the beam magnum with 16 shots instead of just 5.

I've gotten through the torso unit and let me just say I have no idea how I'm going to actually make the transition from unicorn mode to work with all the clear plastic hidden under here, it's a mystery how most of that is meant to operate.

Starting on the most intimidating box in my backlog as a project this week, what do you mean there's 26 full size sprues worth of parts, why are there just as many pages of instructions, what is this MG kit.

The lid of the MG Banshee Norn kit from peebs. It is very large.

More backlog arrived so I needed to clear a little shelf space with the HG Crab/Monkey Rodi! Man Rodi is one of my favorite grunt suit designs, so giving it zgok claws and a weird extra-armored head is good to me. As with most IBO kits it's a little shaky in its joints, but super cute.

The HG Monkey Crab Rodi, a mostly white model robot kit with a very round body and no neck whatsoever. The head just seamlessly locks in with the rest of the armor silhouette.

Crab rodi with its arms replaced with big menacing claw weapons instead, posed to menace the camera with its pinchy hands.

Still sick so still pushing the backlog. HG Draken E from gundam base, featuring the tiny little 1/144 Draken E from the gm sniper 2 kit. I love chunky little power loaders so much. If there's 100 Petite-Mobile fans in the world I am one of them, if there's only one petit-mobile fan it's me.

Putting then next to each other it's neat that all the Berserker's colors are also higher gloss plastic (with the purple and even mechanical gunmetal parts having that old fashioned injected gloss that gives an uneven finish).

The HG Berserker Nobell charged in a lunge against the regular HG Nobell who is just minding her own business.

050

Ro @mechanicalmagpie.bsky.social · 23/02/2026

HG Nobell berserker, one of my favorites of all time! She comes together just like the regular HG Nobell but her colors are all tinted by the 'hacks your brain and makes you rage' aura. I love her.

The torso of a partially built HG Nobell Gundam, a feminine robot with vents and livery which resemble a big mechanical sailor suit. She's subtly pink, and her normal reds and blues have been replaced with a nice fuchsia and violet.

A fully assembled Nobell in a fencer's guard, peace sign held by her chin.

HG Berserker Nobell charges are an enemy with a lunge and a beam saber.

I built big gun zaku's big gun! Not particularly interesting to put together, and like all HGTB it had twice it's weight in stickers, but I really like how the boy looks when he's properly stanced up behind this thing.

HGTB Zaku, a green model robot, standing behind and operating a mech-scale tripod-based beam cannon that is bigger than it.

A different angle showing how much space the Big Gun takes up, it's broader and taller than the zaku!

1212

Ro @mechanicalmagpie.bsky.social · 16/02/2026

Like it really did ask me to apply over 100 stickers for a hg, by the end of it. Not as egregious as the HGTB Psycho Zaku, which is one of my favorite looking HGs despite its build being frustrating.

Empty sticker and decal sheets alongside the manuals marking guide for the HGTB Zaku. There were so many stickers.

Ro @mechanicalmagpie.bsky.social · 16/02/2026

My final gundam backorder of 2024 finally got here so I had to build him. It's HG Zaku TB and his Big Gun (not yet built). Enough deviation from the hguc zaku to make a different experience even before the 100 stickers it asks you to put on, but I like his weapon storage a whole lot.

The torso unit of a Thunderbolt Zaku, a green model robot.

The completed HG Zaku TB, posing with his machine gun pointing at the camera.

HGTB Zaku poised for takeoff and all stickered up now.
