Clinics like this one that MECA supports are not an alternative for a fully functional health system, but at the same time they are accessible spaces for Palestinians in #Gaza to receive primary care and critical treatments.

Dr. Ibrahim, a dermatologist at the clinic, explained; “Living in tents, humidity, overcrowding, and the difficulty of maintaining personal hygiene under displacement conditions all contribute to the spread of many skin diseases and conditions.”

The clinic serves around 4,000 people each month. In addition to a general physician, the clinic has five specialized doctors in women’s health, dermatology, neurology, ear, nose and throat (ENT), and internal medicine.

The makeshift clinic was established during the genocide using limited resources available. Israeli attacks burned it in January 2025 during a ground invasion ... But we rebuilt it to keep serving the increasing numbers of patients that rely on this clinic everyday.

Last month our colleague Eman visited the clinic that MECA established with our local partner in al-Mawasi. The #clinic is a response to the increasing health needs of Palestinians who were forcibly displaced during the ongoing Israeli #genocide.

On August 24, 2026, #Israel bombed Deir al-Balah where one of MECA’s long-time partner Ard El Insan’s warehouse was. This attack almost completely destroyed vital nutrition supplies for #children, pregnant women and nursing mothers and buried the material beneath concrete and rubble.
