None of that justifies your argument that being terrible to your players is required to win. The winningest coaches in NCAA history have mostly been of the "strict but fair" variety. The win at any cost coach doesn't last at any level.

I have a theory about that. The only nations that have had successful communist revolutions are countries that had terrible authoritarian governments. Once the revolution succeeded the revolutionaries began ruling in the way that their culture taught them to, which was as authoritarians.
