It had a good atmosphere and was a nice place to meet -- however they were notorious for refusing to pay musicians anything and only letting people play for the tip jar, so they could only get amateur talent and I think the place suffered because of it.

I remember that sound too, living in Algiers Point. It was always nice to hear at night. The Crescent River Port Pilots now have their first woman pilot, guiding ships from Pilottown to the Port of New Orleans. They're always hiring but it's a lifetime commitment and a high risk job.

Contracting here is very expensive and often done without permits. The result is a lot of shoddy work and shady real estate sales. I know someone here who can only live in the top floor of his house because the ground floor is in such disrepair and he can't afford to fix it.

I think Trump et al have covert plans in place to suppress the vote. If those plans fail, Trump will say the election was fraudulent, and it will cause another constitutional crisis. Everyone close to Trump is going to fry if Democrats re-take Congress.

Oh I am not so sure - I am only a second generation American. There are a lot of Whites in Vermilion Parish but I don’t believe I am related to any of them.

A man who owns generational land at Cheniere au Tigre just banned me from visiting there for life because I’m opposed to SpaceX in LA. He’s says I have no right to an opinion about it and am making enemies. I made a comment saying launch noise could be 120dB there and it infuriated him.

Regulated Keynesian capitalism is fine with me. I would accept that along with UBI. The problem is too much deregulation since Reagan and a system that rewards success and punishes you for being poor.

I don't blame capitalism - I blame politicians telling people they can have high gas prices or have Democrats seize their house and give it to illegal immigrants. This is why poor Louisianans vote for a system that coddles the wealthy and makes the poor pay their expenses.
