If his people need to be explaining to us what he really meant, who is explaining it to Iran so they don't think he was providing an invitation and giving permission.

He's not wrong. And that is rare.

Anyone who believes Trump is making promises he intends to keep will be disappointed at the result. His purpose is to get what he wants not to give you what you want.

He will defend himself against the bribe accusation by not paying it. That's a failure by him to recognize that the offer is the bribe, not the payment.

It has become exceedingly rare for him to speak and it is not something insane or incoherent. I've pretty much stopped listening knowing full well what he is without requiring additional evidence.

After a fire was started in a drop box last election, my plan is to take my ballot directly to the county clerk's office.

Have you noticed that polling numbers showing what people want have no relationship to what government does? Our "representative" government does not represent.

Yes, but nobody is better at killing people. They don't come close. If we didn't spend over half our budget on military forces and weaponry there might be some left to make our lives better.

But wait, he promised to give it back with that $5000 gift. He didn't lie, did he?

Normally, facts found in an investigation would be a necessary first step to prosecute someone. He's scared because people might follow the lead established by his friends. They start the prosecution and then look for ways to justify it.

No surprise there. This is already administration filled with a couch humper, a testosterone sucker, a guy with a strange interest in bestiality, and another one who collects animal parts. This all used to be labeled as perversion. Now it's just our government.

The most common reason for not voting I've heard is "my vote doesn't count." We could never have more compelling proof than seeing Trump in the White House that every vote counts.

I strongly suspect that Trump lost in 2020 because despite manipulating the polling place votes, Musk failed to account for and control the mail-in vote. That is why Trump is demanding control of the mail-in vote. It is more difficult to manipulate.

This week PBS Newshour had a very good explanation for the longer term harm this could cause for just a very short term price reduction. There would be an immediate world-wide price rise due to shortage followed by an even worse shortage due to limited storage capacity in the US.

As I understand it, even his threat of a "national emergency" does not give him authority to cancel elections despite what some of the more radical voices around him say.

That seems an open admission that we have a very unhealthy country if it is an impossibility that 35% haven't needed to use their health insurance. Since insurance never covers all of it and healthcare is so expensive, some people are skipping care because they can't afford even the deductibles.

His constant insistence that he won the last election in a landslide should receive the response every time that more than 2/3 of the country did not vote for him. More than 1/3 did not vote but that does not change the measure of his support.

Truth is not something that can be verified with facts. It is whatever gets him what he wants. His "truth" is a tool, not a statement of fact.

On the other hand, no longer needing to worry about the threat of being removed (big loss) they are free to publish the unvarnished truth. With that freedom, expect even more hard-hitting reporting from them now.

I remember fights in the school yard where the one caught always said "he hit me first". It didn't work as an excuse then and it doesn't work now.

Trump's banishment of news media from the White House new briefings could be considered freeing. They no longer have to worry about saying the thing that angers him enough to kick them out. There is little truth in the briefings anyway so print unvarnished truth without constraints.

Marc Webb @mcwebb99.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
I doubt banning them from press briefings will have the effect he expects. They gain little from them and can report his outrageous behavior without them.

It has worried me that the campaign against Republicans was mostly about gas prices when there is so much more. The activities of ICE including illegal seizures, imprisonment, deportations, assault, and murder seem so much more important. Good to see that becoming a priority.

I'm really curious what there is left to use those big bombs on. Israel could only use them to expand their extermination campaign farther into Jordan and into the West Bank. Or perhaps to expand the campaign in Iran into a real war. Gaza is essentially gone.

Marc Webb @mcwebb99.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
Is it really such a loss for a media organization to be banished from the bullshit press briefings? There can't be much useful gained there. Reporting can probably continue just as before without that little bit of access.

If we just got rid of money altogether and returned to barter exchange of goods, would that satisfy his problem with trade imbalance? Problem is he has run every business he's ever had with a deficit resulting in his multiple bankruptcies. Not for him, just everyone else.

Then every other president or civilian who has ever offered or released funding for the Kennedy Center should also have their name on it as well. And in writing just as prominent as his. That will turn it into one ugly building.

Where I vote by mail (Oregon) there are probably a lot more checks to prevent fraudulent votes than in states where voting is by machine in polling locations. Exceedingly rare fraud by either method of voting as investigations have proven over and over.

What's interesting is that these 2 "hoaxes" are merging into one. The heat generation from the data centers built in support of AI are huge heat sources most likely accelerating the global heating that results in climate change. He dismisses both because he is an idiot.

It's not even his money. It is taxpayer money. So it adds to the debt which must be repaid with interest. He promises a loan for voting to save his ass from impeachment.

He operates under the assumption that if it is in plain sight and nobody is stopping him, it must be legal and OK with everyone. On the other hand, he does seem worried about what happens when his justice department can no longer protect him.

As I understand it, the sanctions are against the West Bank settlers who are seizing and destroying property and murdering civilians. That fact that the Israeli government, which was not sanctioned, is angry about that is a huge open declaration of their involvement.

But is it really a lie if he believes it? His inability to distinguish between reality and delusional fantasy is why he says and does most of it.

And then there is the tipped job minimum wage of $2.13 for restaurant servers which is not enough to pay transportation to the job and back home at the end of the day.

Yup, that one. Even many of the Republican candidates are getting as far from him as possible. They don't want people voting as if Trump is on the ballot because that's how they lose.

A $1 coin that costs $2.50 seems unlikely to see much circulation. But it is a good representation of Trump economic inflation.

He is so convinced that he lost the 2020 election because of the later arriving mail-in ballots that he believes they are the problem, not the fact that the election isn't over until all the votes are counted, even the mailed in ones. I also believe he (Musk) was fixing the polling place ballots.

Wouldn't you think a person would not want to look that stupid in such a public way?
000
Marc Webb @mcwebb99.bsky.social · 03/09/2026
Maybe if Trump wasn't bombing and killing civilians in school or at weddings they would not see him as more the enemy than their own government. Maybe if he wasn't responsible for their unaffordable economy they would see him as supporting them and not just himself.
000
Marc Webb @mcwebb99.bsky.social · 03/09/2026
As long as Trump is bombing and killing civilians, destroying their economy, and wrecking their infrastructure he is the enemy of the Iranian people. He is driving them towards their own government, not away from it. Their government is more on their side than he is.

Isn't it kind of strange he wants the hide the evidence of what needs to be fixed for him to not lose the midterms? The polls are telling him where the problem is. Rather than fix the problem he hides the evidence.

Aren't we supposed to vote them out when they don't represent our interests? That doesn't seem to be happening.
