Make stuff. For the love of all that there is, please just keep making stuff! Doesn't matter if it's bad, good etc. Just *keep* making stuff.

Getting some animatic work done whilst on lunch break at work 🤘

Been procrastinating like crazy lately. Anyone got any tips for staying focused? I feel like I've totally fell off the wagon when it comes to animating stuff The pomodoro timer method was great for a while but it's seemingly less effective for me these days Any tips are appreciated!

I forgot how twitter was for bots and graphic designers looking for work. I respect the hustle but I should have specified in the post that I was doing the rebrand myself. Big guy over here didn't read before hitting post. My bad.

Looking into doing a channel rebrand (New profile pic, banner, ect). I'm probably gonna keep my old logo and refine it a little bit but thought i'd have a mess around and have a bit of fun creating some new designs. Capcom called. They want their logo back.

Nah. You waited way too long, man. I love the gameplay of Brutal Legend 1 but without Lemmy, Ozzy Osbourne or Tim Curry, i don't see the point of a sequel. I know they could get other rock legends involed but they set the bar way too fucking high with that first game's cast.

One of the worst things about being an animator is that there's not enough time to do anything. I've had the basis for a gangster story since 2013. Shit's probably never gonna get made. Ah well. Here's some character concepts from a couple of years ago. Fucked anatomy and all.

Ryan - McMetalface @mcmetalfaceyt.bsky.social · 27/08/2026

Anybody know any good intermediate animation exercises? This isn't a self-put down or anything, but i want to try and improve my skills as an animator. (Reposted because of a typo). #animation #2danimation

Was gonna skip #IndieAnimationDay until i had something a bit more polished, but eh. I'm currently working on a slapstick, punk rock comedy called "The Road Crew" that follows a struggling band trying to make it big in the hellish landscape of 1980s California. #Indie #IndieAnimation

I've got to start scraping some stuff together for the next indie animation day. I've made good progress this year on the Road Crew pilot but I still don't have anything ready to show off. Hopefully next time.

That my replay of Red Dead Redemption 1 in the book. Still a masterpiece. Gonna jump into Undead Nightmare in a few weeks and follow that up with RDR2. I need to get back into animating. It's been good having a week off to just play a game though.

020

Ryan - McMetalface @mcmetalfaceyt.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

Gonna have to lock back in after this week. I've done absolutely nothing but play Red Dead Redemption 1 after work hours and i know for a fact if I don't get my head back in the game, Red Dead 2 is right there waiting for me. Never thought a gif could sum up my week so perfectly.

020

Ryan - McMetalface @mcmetalfaceyt.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

These bouts of burnout have been getting more frequent. The second I finish the animatics for the Road Crew pilot and POSTAL Wednesday, I'm taking like a whole ass month off. Like properly switch my brain off and chip away at my evergrowing game and film backlog Reset my brain and work on cleanup

020

Ryan - McMetalface @mcmetalfaceyt.bsky.social · 01/07/2026

Seriously. Did the Games industry all agree that it'd be a fun idea to shit the bed right after Summer Game Fest? Didn't Sony delist hundreds of digital films last week, removing them from people's libraries who purchased them? Fuck modern gaming man. I'm going back to my PS2.

141

Ryan - McMetalface @mcmetalfaceyt.bsky.social · 27/06/2026

Animatic done (Took a few days off). Gonna see if i can do the cleanup process in a couple of days. It's a low effort animation but i'm having fun with it. It's a nice break from bigger projects.

030

Ryan - McMetalface @mcmetalfaceyt.bsky.social · 26/06/2026

It's funny. 2 weeks ago, Summer Game Fest had me excited for gaming for the first time in a long time. In those 2 weeks we've had layoffs, confirmed studio closures, console price hikes, Steam Machine's ridiculous launch price & GTA 6 locking a significant amount of content behind a deluxe edition.

Ryan - McMetalface @mcmetalfaceyt.bsky.social · 23/06/2026

Had to cool off but after tonight i'm just about done being a people pleaser. No more favors. No more being people's diary / therapist. All i ask for in return is a small amount of respect and that's apparantly too much to ask for. I'll still be civil and polite but don't expect anything from me.

Ryan - McMetalface @mcmetalfaceyt.bsky.social · 15/06/2026

Gonna need some horror film recommendation. The more obscure, the better. Either that or i could sit down and watch the Romero Dead Trilogy for the millionth time...which honestly i don't see that as a bad thing.
