Been kind of struggling lately. But also, 3 pages away from finishing this thing. Give me some love people. I need it.

Is this where I reveal that I almost always wear “comfortable trail running shoes with built in plantar fasciitis friendly soles”instead of the good ole Chucks that I still usually draw on my feet?

One of the loves of my life, Japanese soft cream. This is from a comic I’m working on that will only be available via Patreon. And yep, I misspelled Yamagata.

I still like to draw with a dip pen and currently my bottle of ink (kaimei lettering sol) is drying out due to this winter heat wave in southern california. And yep, Trump tariffs have increased the price of this ink and made it more hard to find so I’m using a sharpie instead to fill in the black…

Laid out a couple pages for the next issue and immediately made a mistake (photo taken on the side where there was no mistake)…

One little single solitary strand of grey cat fur getting in the way of my dip pen is all it takes to draw my dear Chu-hi as Kimba the White Lion (my favorite cartoon as a little kid).

Somewhere in this folding pile of the new issue I accidentally added an extra page to one. It’s late and I’m too tired to figure out which 2 issues get the extra page and I plan to start mailing them out this weekend. If it’s you that gets one of these issues then consider yourself my lucky charm.

One of the best foods in Japan is the softcream aka soft serve. Every region has its own local specialty flavor and it’s a very important aspect of traveling in Japan to seek out these regional flavors. It’s much better than ice cream. Or soft serve. And if it’s made with Hokkaido cream…sigh.
