I heard about this story, I heard about the 90s movie starring Ethan Hawke. It wasn’t until today when I was listening to The Last Podcast on the Left series on this tragic disaster, that I found out ...

Lau Kar-Leung’s modern day set action comedy does serve up some laughs, but does lack in the action department. There’s some good fight scenes, but nothing that comes close to his best. There’s story ...

The Bargain is William S. Hart’s first starring role, and I can see why it made him a star. The story is one you seen before, especially in these silent westerns. But what sets this one apart is the m...

Firstly I got to applaud and commend James Nunn, the crews and Scott Adkins of all three of the One Shot movies. They truly made one of the most underrated action franchise ever. Shooting them all as ...

Just really impressed by Waleed Elgadi in these two One Shot movies. The man is just acting his ass off in both. Action is better in this than the first, it’s a little bigger. Few little gripes on rew...

An important movie for me, but that doesn’t sway what I think about this tremendous low budget action flick. It uses its limited budget to full effect with the one continuous shot gimmick. It isn’t no...

On par with O’Donnell’s first film, Beyond Skyline. Narratively it’s it more straightforward and while being about 10 minutes longer than the previous film, it moves a lot quicker. Lindsay Morgan is a...

This had been on my watchlist for a while. Being big fan of both Grillo and Iko Uwais for years now. Argus takes what Skyline did and badassed it up. It’s bigger, it travels the world. We see more ali...

Skyline is a nice low budget alien invasion flick. The characters are thin, the story is simple. What carries is the visuals on screen. Using basically all its budget on the practical and visual effec...

Everyone’s favorite gambling, karate chopping, horny priest is back. This time they take what made Tomisaburō Wakayama’s other iconic character from Lone Wolf and Cub carrying the kid around to this o...

An intriguing if at times a little too plodding tale of a degenerate priest. Most of the movie is just the priest gambling, talking shit and being horny. Thrown in a young couple subplot, a gaggle of ...

I hadn’t watched this since I saw it in theaters. I remember walking out with my dad who really enjoyed it, thinking “man that was really racist.” Well I still think the same, on that. It’s unfortunat...

What was going through Stallone’s head that he had to make this kind of political statement about the atrocities in Myanmar (at the time Burma). This is one mean, nasty and brutal film. The massacre i...

Even at an hour and forty minutes this is a complete slog. With a second unit/action director behind camera even the action is a let down compared to the 2nd film. Just all feels half baked. Love the ...

Big loud 80s machismo and exceptionalism at its loudest. Taking Rambo haunted by his past in Vietnam, comes back to Vietnam to save some POWs. Of course there are some American cronies lying about wha...

Never fails to not be a thrilling movie. Kotcheff’s best and my personal favorite Stallone character. Rocky may be his, but I felt John Rambo was his way of letting things out. So it was always this r...

David Lean’s Summertime is a very nice trip to Venice without actually going to Venice. Hepburn is wonderful in the role and Rossano Brazzi is very charming as the male lead. It’s a nice lovely romanc...

Chang Cheh’s blistering and fight filled Heroes Two is just what you want from Cheh, Fu Sheng and Kuan-Tai. Manchu’s are taking over and wiping out Shaolin schools. Chen Kuan-Tai’s Hung is on the run....

Budd Boetticher takes the style of filmmaking he would use in the coming years for his westerns into this adventure film. It’s basically two partners going for one last score, instead of robbing a ban...

A movie that is just as frustrating as the material the film is covering. Much like the Alien and UFO phenomenon, this film doesn’t answer anything and just leaves you asking more questions. It feels ...

In typical Ken Burns fashion this is a very well done documentary that is deliberately paced. Having read Stephen Ambrose’s Undaunted Courage, this just felt like a visual version of the book. Even wi...

A rock solid oater starring Audie Murphy and Walter Brennan. They play father and son, Murphy in the beginning is bigoted towards the Ute people and native Americans after one killed his mom. Brennan ...

Journeyman director George Sherman teams up with Universal star Audie Murphy to make a fantastic underrated little western thriller. Of the ten or so Sherman films I’ve watched this is easily his fine...

John Francis Daley and Johnathan Goldstein’s Mayday is incredible my type of shit. While it does that have that streaming sheen, it does look better than most (Netflix) streaming action movies. Reynol...

A very well done western that solely focuses on Native Americans. Well the main character is played by two white people, a young version played by James Remar and the older version played by Trevor Ho...

Finally a documentary that has the courage to push back on some of the evil things that Americans did in Vietnam. This is a hard watch, but one that definitely needs to be seen more. How some of these...

A good documentary, that I think is a little too dry. Maybe that was the style of documentary filmmaking back in the 70s. But it does have some absolutely fantastic interviews with very prominent figu...

A history channel original documentary series that has some star power voicing veterans and veterans family members. Unfortunately that’s the best thing about this documentary. It just glosses over so...

A solid, if not a little too slight of the war. I wasn’t looking for Ken Burns level of documentary. But leaving out so many American atrocities that were committed. Never really saying why so many Am...

Just an easy breezy, zany, action comedy with Abdullah the Butcher doing karate, Sonny Chibi as a magician, a monkey causing hijinks and yeah Japanese Nazi’s for some reason. It’s never explained why ...

A mess of a movie for the majority. The plot and characters are all over the place, it was hard to keep track of their motivations, wasn’t even clear what they were and the villain were after. Then yo...

Gail Russell and Randolph Scott are dynamite here. Lee Marvin is scum, and the husband is a weenie. Damn near perfect western to start what would become my favorite artist and actor collaboration ever...

A much tighter movie than the previous directed Dolph film, The Russian Specialist. Which had moments where it got too slow. Icarus (The Killing Machine) has Dolph living a double life as a former KGB...

Just rock solid all around. Dolph behind the camera and starring in this one. Features some very good shootouts, nice bloody squibs and a good villain. What more could you ask for from a DTV action th...

Loved seeing the downfall of these evil pieces of shit in the end. Whiny fucking losers till they dropped. Appreciated things a doc not about those evil losers, but about the Jewish people and survivo...
