I have changed what I buy and always look for a Canadian alternative. If there isn't one, then I go to any other country's product. I won't buy American, even if I must pay more, it's worth it to me. I have no argument with those who are struggling to make a paycheck stretch, do what you need to.

I think the big lesson here is how the easily the US Constitution has been to circumvent and has failed to protect the citizens from an authoritarian president taking power. Much stronger protections need to be put in place to ensure that even the president obeys the rule of law.

Before jumping to extreme conclusions, maybe people should wait and see what kind of alliance these discussions with the EU could provide. Carney has been very clear on the protection of Canadian sovereignty and would jeopardize it for an agreement with the EU.
