The House passed the Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act unanimously in January, with over 327 bipartisan co-sponsors. @vanhollen.senate.gov & @alsobrooks.senate.gov: Thank you for your past support for survivors. It's time for the Senate to act and pass the bipartisan, commonsense #CVFSA now!
Survivor services are at risk. The Senate must pass the bipartisan Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act before it's too late! September 23: National Day of Action.

In 2022, MD amended MD Business Regulation Code to require lodging establishments (like hotels, motels, & inns) to train employees to identify the signs of human trafficking. Almost 4 years later, records show nearly 90% have not, leaving survivors unprotected. Learn more: loom.ly/mvRNBLM

When working w college students, it’s important to note the difference between mandated reporters of SA & those who provide confidential support to survivors. Professors, coaches & admin. employees may be mandatory reporters & have to share any type of sxl misconduct w the campus Title IX office 🧵

1 way to protect you & your child’s privacy is to avoid sharing locations on social media. When posting photos, turn off location options that pin each pic. This is key for places you frequent like home or school- locations & routines shouldn't be accessible to anyone who can see your social media.

It’s against the law to create and distribute fake nude images in Maryland, but there are hundreds of apps promoting this harm online. It's important to be aware of the #ImpactofAI and talk to the young people in your life about the seriousness of deepfakes.

Deepfake technology uses face-swapping or generative image creation to make fake photos or videos of someone, often showing them nude or engaging in a sxl act. Although the pictures aren’t real, this is sxl violence & the harm is anything but fake! 1 in 17 children are victims of sexual deepfakes.
