and you'll have a much easier time finding a newer oled screen for cheap than plasmas, which of the existing and rapidly aging stock left in existence is often sought after as a collector's item. And thus good plasma screens are getting more expensive, not cheaper

Plasma objectively cant have richer colors because it has a backlight, so you cant get true blacks. OLED has literal infinite contrast ratio. If you are fine with a backlight and panels that are routinely getting harder to service and maintain, then go ahead. OLED still has the best color accuracy

Most of the media on my media server is in 4k, and with my living room setup im not getting a 55 inch tv that is 1080p, lol. Talk about dreadful pixel density. You can find a used 4k TV for less than 100$ nowadays and all you have to do is disable its internet access and its basically a normal TV.

Pretty much every consumer TV since 2018 has been a smart TV, they are about all you can find nowadays. Anything that isnt is usually an extremely old LCD with an already heavily aged panel, a plasma TV, or a CRT

This is more of an issue with digital ownership laws. Id much rather have an mp4 or mkv file of something I can copy onto any number of devices, storage, and even burn to empty discs if I wanted to but there's so few ways except pirating to do that. DVDs die so easily and often result in e waste

You can still get one with no credit score! I'm not sure where you live but companies like Discover have cards that are meant to be starter credit cards. Its how I got my first one with no credit score, it'll have a super low credit limit but thats not a worry if you're not spending on it anyways
