The right is desperate to understand how Neo-Nazis have infiltrated the Conservative movement. @ewerickson.bsky.social's article is the latest attempt. I broke down why it's woefully inadequate and is the very reason Neo-Nazis will win the GOP civil war. milesbrnr.substack.com/p/erick-eric...

Erick Erickson’s Diagnosis of the Right’s Neo-Nazi Problem Misses the Mark
Erick Erickson ascribes the rise of Nazism on the right to a small group of Neo-Nazis, the roots go far deeper than is comfortable for Erick to acknowledge

If a Republican in Dallas asks you to shake hands, please be sure they washed their hands.

The Republican Party is the party of Stolen Valor and fake 9/11 victims… prove me wrong.

If I lived in Florida or Michigan, I’d vote for both democratic candidates in a heartbeat, both of whom were supported by the DSA.

I anticipated that. That’s why I’ve spent my year with my head down doing behind the scenes work, not getting involved in intra-party debates, focusing my energy helping to raise money for any Democrat I can that’s up against Republicans in November.

Oh no there’s definitely a shame element to it. It’s an imperfect post, I didn’t get everything in there.

Miles Bruner @mbruner.bsky.social · 05/09/2026
Oh no no no, I would never presume to yell at Democrats. It’s not my place at this moment. That’s why I have stayed out of internal debates and focused all of my energy on attacking Republicans or raising money for Democrats.

Two, Republicans spend years learning how to weaponize their opponent’s identity, and we have no qualms about turning it on them.

This is Romney’s former campaign manager. Speaking as an ex-Republican staffer one thing I tell people is that no one will go to the mat against our former party more than people like us. First, we’re bitter and angry for having been apart of what turned out to be a colossal, fascist lie.

We're conditioned to think we have to be assholes to succeed. Seeing this after the deaths of universally beloved icons Dolly Parton and Tim Curry puts the insanity of this belief in stark relief.

Saw this on an @lsufootball.bsky.social poster: “If you want to win at the highest level, you have to become a villain in someone else's story.” This is what a college is telling malleable young adults. It perfectly encapsulates where we are in this country.

We’re through the looking glass here folks. Ossoff saying god bless our sailors is now code in MAGA for Democrats encouraging mutiny. This is some crazy shit. Republicans can’t claim to be more pro military anymore, and they’re coming up with bananas coping mechanisms.
131
Miles Bruner @mbruner.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
If you had told me 20 years ago that Republicans would not only be responsible for the decline of American military power, but would actually cheer it on, I would have called you crazy. But here we are.

Republican staffers take pictures at parties while our sailors eat expired meat and bathe in moldy showers.
061
Miles Bruner @mbruner.bsky.social · 15/08/2026
When looking at what's going on with our sailors in the Gulf, we need to start talking like Republicans. Donald Trump and every Republican in Congress does not care about our military and they hate America. I'm done giving them the monopoly on deciding who can and can't love this country.

Frankly, the choice, from the far-left to the NeverTrump center, shouldn’t be a hard one. If I lived in Michigan, El-Sayed would have this former Republican’s vote.
061
Miles Bruner @mbruner.bsky.social · 10/08/2026
Abdul El-Sayed as one Senator doesn’t have the power to single-handedly pass his agenda. But if elected, as one Senator he could have the power to stop Trump’s entire agenda and list of nominees.

If Republicans can’t call on the people who abuse their own children and grandchildren to resign from Congress, where is the line for them? Looking at you Bernie Moreno re: Max Miller.

The GOP's monstrous agenda aside, one of the big reasons I threw away my career in Republican politics (the only career I knew) was because I couldn't bear the idea of my children seeing me this spineless and servile.

Having now worked for Democrats and pro-Democracy organizations as a moderate, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that their red-baiting and lies about Communism are 100% BS fearmongering. The real focus for November is stopping fascism and the implosion of our economy.
030
Miles Bruner @mbruner.bsky.social · 21/07/2026
Take it from a former GOP operative. The problem right now is fascism in the Republican Party. Because it is here and it is very real. I saw it firsthand and I was part of the system that built it.

Yeah, I’m not sure. Luckily it was reinstated. It was just alarming that something like that could come without warning with almost no recourse or explanation.

So, account suspended on Threads. Zero warning. Zero explanation. Completely invisible to the community I had spent years cultivating. If my appeal is denied, there's no chance tell people where I've gone or what happened. You can just be unpersoned, like that.

Are the glam shots of partying in DC worth it as innocent men and women are gunned down by federal agents in our streets?
000
Miles Bruner @mbruner.bsky.social · 13/07/2026
To my fellow former Republican staffers. A father was shot in front of his toddler today. And the people you work for continue to be silent as our nation goes down a very dark road. Is it worth it?

Miles Bruner @mbruner.bsky.social · 12/07/2026
I know this is the new normal on the right. But these scam fundraising texts from actual Republican members of Congress are disgraceful. Voters elect these people to serve their best interests, not scam them out of their paychecks, and Republicans brazenly abuse that trust. This one’s Rep. Patronis.

We shouldn’t lose sight of the fact that SCOTUS affirmed a lower court ruling that found Trump liable for rape.

Miles Bruner @mbruner.bsky.social · 25/06/2026
Toward the end of my time with the Republican Party the hardest realization was that the overt racism coming from the party had been a feature going back over 50 years and I just chose to be blind to it. You can’t work for the GOP and not have this be a reflection of who you are as a person.

Miles Bruner @mbruner.bsky.social · 18/06/2026
NO WAY!! Trump actually signed the capitulation to… I mean agreement with Iran at the Palace of Versailles!! Am I having a stroke!? This can’t be real. How humiliating. Is Macron trolling Trump?

As someone who started working for Republicans and now works to elect Democrats, there is a massive qualitative difference in intelligence between Democratic and Republican clients.

Miles Bruner @mbruner.bsky.social · 16/06/2026
So Iran not only succeeded in establishing dominance over the Strait of Hormuz, and getting billions from the United States, but now they’ve driven a wedge between the U.S. and Israel. Man, I’m so tired of all this winning.

This is a prominent Orange County Republican Party operative on yesterday’s UFC fight. Republicans have given up any pretense about even holding up small-d democratic values. This is a nakedly fascist movement
OC GOP operative calls Trump emperor.

Vance is 100% lying to mask how bad they fucked up the War in Iran. The Union violently strangled the Confederacy to death. It's not the Negotiation at Appomattox Court House. It's the Surrender at Appomattox Court House.

I’ve been in the registrars and observed ballots being counted in LA and Orange County. I know first hand there’s no widespread fraud or “rigging”of elections Republicans claim there are. Even the LAGOP and a US Attorney have said as much.

The reality couldn’t be clearer. Pratt, Trump, and Republicans are still deeply unpopular in California and refuse to moderate their positions or make a coherent argument to win voters over. Rather they’re resorting to lies to tear down our democratic institutions.
130
Miles Bruner @mbruner.bsky.social · 07/06/2026
The purpose was to make Republicans believe the only way he could lose was due to fraud, thereby delegitimize our electoral process. And that’s exactly what’s happening with Republicans expressing disbelief at how Pratt with his groundbreaking AI ads could be losing.
110
Miles Bruner @mbruner.bsky.social · 07/06/2026
Your friendly ex-Republican operative here with your routine reminder that Spencer Pratt was an entirely online campaign, driven by bots and AI videos. Nothing about it was authentic. The campaign made it appear there was a groundswell of support from traditionally blue areas.

Modern conservatives are irreparably broken. To use D-Day to compare modern Europe to the Nazi regime that murdered millions of Jews is grotesque. On top of that. To say their lives were wasted when millions were saved by their sacrifice is a disgrace.
010
Miles Bruner @mbruner.bsky.social · 05/06/2026
Republicans would rather burn down our democracy than lose an election, argue why their policies are better or actually represent their voters. This disgraceful behavior should be a red mark on even the most moderate republican who refuses to condemn the conspiracism ripping apart our democracy
010
Miles Bruner @mbruner.bsky.social · 05/06/2026
I’ve seen people write fundraising content alleging fraud without evidence or experience in the local election.
110
Miles Bruner @mbruner.bsky.social · 05/06/2026
So this is an issue I can speak on with some authority. Republicans are spreading these lies and election conspiracies because they refuse to accept that their agenda is deeply unpopular in California.
110
Miles Bruner @mbruner.bsky.social · 05/06/2026
I was involved in recounts, and ballot integrity initiatives on the Republican side, including volunteering for Young Kim. I’ve seen how ballots are authenticated and counted in LA and Orange County. There is a robust system in place to combat widespread fraud and election tampering.
110
Miles Bruner @mbruner.bsky.social · 05/06/2026
Republicans are brazenly lying about election fraud and illegal voting. As a former California Republican operative I ran an election where we won by just 43 votes out of thousands of ballots cast.

Listening to the folks at Commentary Magazine’s podcast finally figure out that Witkoff and Kushner leading the peace negotiations with Iran might not be on the level is hilarious. This is just days after saying this was a brilliant move.

Talarico is talking about Ken Paxton releasing a child rapist at the behest of a donor. Paxton is talking about Talarico not eating meat. I can see how Republicans would think this is a hard choice.
