🙌 The majority of philosophy classes at the UG level are also full. Top line: Liberal Arts at UMN are highly valued by students. (Now if we could just get funding for TAs commensurate to the demand for our classes, but that’s another story…)

Along these lines, Sara Richardson has a really interesting series of articles on the LVC, in which she argues that emphasis on the radical origins of analytic philosophy in logical positivism neglects the critical impact of feminism on making analytic philosophy & philsci socially conscious.

Yep! The "Left Vienna Circle," in particular, thought of the project of logical positivism supporting socialist aims (esp. Neurath & Carnap). But there is definitely a break from these origins & aims in the midcentury, a matter of some historical inquiry. (George Reisch's 2007 book the highlight.)

While I found Shuringa’s argument to be quite poor, the idea that a method or body of knowledge (or technology) can’t support or be a product of an ideology is downright silly. (And a product of scientists trying to distance their research from its horrific applications post-Bomb.)
