Do some noises feel too loud or uncomfortable for you? Do certain sounds give you 'the ick'? If so, please consider taking part in this research! (find link below!). By participating, you can take part in a prize draw for one of 4 £25 Amazon vouchers! #misophonia #hyperacusis #auraldiversity

Frequent breaks between sounds have been built into the study to minimise discomfort, however if you are concerned about listening to sounds in this way (via headphones) we recommend that you do not take part. Feel free to ask me any questions via email: m.b.bauer@edu.salford.ac.uk.

WARNING: This online study involves listening to short (15 second) clips of sounds that some people may find distressing and / or painful. At the beginning of the study, you will be given the opportunity to set the volume level to a level that is most comfortable for yourself. (cont.)

I would be so grateful if you could take part in my online study. To take part, you must be over 18, have good understanding of English, and be able to take part in a listening task. If you have hearing loss but are able to listen sounds using headphones, you are welcome to participate!

Hi everyone! My name is Mathilde Bauer; I am a first-year PhD student in Applied Psychology at the University of Salford. I am conducting research on Decreased Sound Tolerance (hyperacusis and misophonia) and am particularly interested in the way in which individuals differentially react to sounds.
