Sorry for the rant, I overreacted yesterday. I still love anime art but it’s not 100% who I am anymore, so I’ll be focusing less on it. I’ll do what I can for now 👍🏻

I’ll still keep all my Maystorm accounts as it was a huge part of my life. Maybe do it once in a while for fun, but for now I felt there is no future for me there. As a career it’s either an infinite merch grind for cons or have a R18 patreon and both I don’t see myself doing.

That’s it. I think I’ll slowly phase out of anime art. The heavy rendered sparkly style no longer interests me, and I don’t see my future doing it indefinitely. I’m going to pivot to more “normie” illustrations. I only have 200 followers on my small IG compared to 40k, but I felt way happier

I’m still very lost, going through a quarter life crisis… but I guess for now drawing BL still makes me happy

To my US people: Hong Kong has issued a shipping ban to the US. If you want to get anything from my store, please place your orders BEFORE April 25. I will not be able to ship to you after this date until the ban lifts and there is no idea when.

It has gotten wayyy more competitive since like 2018 as more artists go to cons make a living / it’s not longer treated as a hobby

Have you heard of Mario Kart? 🤣

Here it’s what I’ve been working on, it’s quite different but if you’re interested in seeing more it’s @/pomanillustration on IG and I might open a new bsky as well 🥰

I have a fashion illustration thing going on at the side under a different name and I’m working to get on that field. I’ll be keeping Maystorm and maybe post as a hobby as it’s been a part of my life for a long time :)

Agreed that it’s heavily romanticised, I’ve been doing it as a business for a while and honestly I’m thinking of getting a job on the side just so I can stop thinking about what makes money when I draw, it’s been killing the fun.

This is honestly so helpful, as a person who *might* get cancer due to family history reading this relieved a lot of my anxiety 🤍

Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce. Bear with me for a second while I try to explain.

Some good news to start 2025, 2 of my original illustrations are published in Illusmontage 2025, an illustration annual featuring Hong Kong, East and SE Asian artists! 🥳 Happy that my original works got recognition 🥲
