It’s been a busy and productive week at the 13th UK Trade Mission. This year marked our largest delegation yet and trade talks with more 400+ companies, the most ever. We strengthened economic ties and relationships that will create more jobs in Jacksonville and lead to more investment in our city.

This latest marker on the Jacksonville Civil Rights Trail is not here to celebrate the actions of that day, rather, it is here to commemorate the change Axe Handle Saturday brought about. It shows how one generation of young people challenged the status quo and helped create change. (2/3)

Housing costs remain top of mind in Jacksonville. The solution is building more homes affordable for families with the greatest need. Parkwood Commons adds 108 homes to the more than 7,000 below market rate homes built or on the way since I took office. We’ll keep pushing for more.

It was a special moment honoring Hank Thomas for his life, legacy, and contributions to our city and nation. He was born in Jacksonville and was one of the 13 original Freedom Riders – brave Americans who traveled across the South in 1961 to advance freedom and fairness in interstate bus travel.
