I will never subscribe to SiriusXM after the last time I cancelled their service due to this stuff. I think it was 4 or 5 times the automated system offered discounts/renewals/"deals" before I could cancel. I tried to make a complaint at the end and it restarted the "interaction" instead 🙄

This reminds me of a joke. I don't remember the whole thing but the punchline is that you "Make things with homegrown XYZ". No matter if it's 2 homegrown strawberries in a batch of jelly. Or a single potato in a large pot of mashed potatoes. I think of that joke every time I have a bad harvest lol

I finally lost weight after regularly eating the "minimum" calories an adult "needs", running 10+ miles/week, and working out. I should lose more but at least I'm maintaining. I have a full physical scheduled this month, the first time in well over a decade, and the first time as an adult. So 🤷🫠

I've generally never been "unhealthy" or "sick", chronically tired or anything out of the ordinary. Stress is ehh sometimes. I'm kind of surprised I don't have a small list of happenings/pain/problems/etc, considering what I see my 30 year old coworkers going through, what they're taking and doing.

Prior to that, the last type of insurance coverage I had was vision, through my father, up until I was 26(?). I don't know if I had anything more prior. Nobody informed me of anything, nor how to use it. We never regularly went to the doctor/dentist/etc as kids. I never thought anything more of it.

I didn't know anything about going to doctors and having insurance for far longer than I'd care to admit. I thought you only went to the doctor/dentist/eye doctor if you had problems. I only recently got healthcare again, at nearly 30, just because a bunch of random stuff lined up just right.

Even then, you could argue that table salt isn't safe because it contains a highly explosive element (if I remember right?)

I'm so tired of the "all you need is a calorie deficit" dialogue. As if I haven't spent months at a time obsessing over maintaining a deficit only to barely see things change. I especially hate it because in college I rarely exercised and I ate fast food nearly every day. I was maybe 110# then.

I thought I heard a report that part of Russia's struggle overall, and especially in the war with Ukraine, was that they were running out of oil? I don't know if it was due to a lack of refineries, or drilling, or what the causes were, but if they're running out of oil, how can they sell any?

You don't have a central system? I guess even then the gas doesn't cut the cold as nicely as a wood fire. I use electric space heaters when it gets obnoxiously cold. We all sleep in one room with an electric heater, and we have one for the bathroom because cold in the bathroom SUCKS.

How do you tell when eggplants are ready? I have a couple of plants with fruit, but nothing I've read about harvesting them tells me for sure when they're ripe. I wish they'd just change colors like tomatoes.

As someone who lives in such a Northern Wisconsin town, same. I've visited Chicago, and while I swear I don't belong in cities long term, I felt so much better there than I do out and about where I live. Hopefully we'll get to move soon.

$400 repair on my old car just jumped to $900. Hopefully the 2nd job they have to do doesn't cost more. I almost told them to not do it because I doubt the car is worth more than 3k. But 10 gallons of gas lasts me 2+ weeks in it. My Jeep used more than twice that. Hope I don't regret fixing it🤞

Same thing in my state, although it's usually considered a purple state. They prance around with "Vote Republican if you want change!" Republicans have been the majority in charge for something like 40 years. If they wanted to make change, wouldn't 40 years be long enough to do that?

Same, I was so sad digging through my dead tomato plants today, gathering the green ones. It's crazy how many plants are dead but also how much is still thriving. No more fresh potatoes, tomatoes, onions, corn, squash, cucumbers, peas, and some beans. At least I have dried beans and peas now!

And they might just possibly change their mind on some things. Just gotta plant a little seed. I've always been almost overly logical in defending/explaining my positions. Sometimes I like to believe that basic, non aggressive, logic and facts, explained clearly, gets through to people.

I'd rather let them be mad. If they want to have a digital world where their -isms aren't questioned, they can block me. And maybe. Just maybe. There could be a single one that might see what I post, in combination with the fact that I'm generally a good coworker, find the logic and reasoning sound

And, even though we could fix our distribution systems, significantly reduce, potentially stop pollution, and so much other good stuff for ALL people, basically creating "heaven on earth", we shouldn't. Because somehow, that's not right and shareholder value and the stock market.

How I feel when MAGA coworkers add me in FB If they decide to hate me over my left/liberal posts, ok. Just imagine the gossip they try to spin out of it Can you BELIEVE she thinks immigrants deserve due process?! Can you BELIEVE she supports human rights for newborn infants AND pregnant people?!

I can be at 150% double fisting coffee, that spot will still knock me out. My brain says "This is incredibly boring. Let's disengage, disassociate, daydream, and shutdown!" I've been feeling so hopeless, worthless, useless, a waste, sad, hurt, empty, all that ever since that happened today.

And that sinkhole reappeared today when a coworker, with just the slightest bit of aggression/frustration, lightly hit me with a tote for falling asleep on the line. The most boring position too. You sit and watch the product go by on a conveyor belt. Pull off anything that doesn't look right.
