MaybeTall @maybetall.itch.io · 13/10/2025Game's prototype is finished. Took about two weeks off/on. After all that work I have: buggy procedural maps w/ nav meshes, an interaction system, chunked ai processing for performance, multiple guns w/ hitscan and projectiles, and a silly game that is both too easy and sort of boring. 😀 #gamedev 071 7
MaybeTall @maybetall.itch.io · 13/10/2025I did it! I did the thing! It's procedurally generated mountains, land, and water! #gamedev 171 7
MaybeTall @maybetall.itch.io · 13/10/2025I spent hours trying to learn how to flatten my procedural terrain before realizing I could just generate two meshes and layer them.. Anyways, I'm now going to try to make a three-mesh procedural level generator (mountain mesh, water mesh, flat mesh). 010 1
MaybeTall @maybetall.itch.io · 12/10/2025Happy to report that my game now has procedurally generated terrain w/ colliders and nav meshes. Not a single bit of vibe coding either! The AI only activate if the player is in their chuck. This map is 5, 5 chunks meaning I have 25 chunks generated and one chunk active. #gamedev Also, trees. 061 6
MaybeTall @maybetall.itch.io · 12/10/2025My idea was good but there was a simpler way to do this! By the end of today I should have large procedural terrain generation with chunking! 110 1
MaybeTall @maybetall.itch.io · 12/10/2025I have procedural terrain in my game! Here's the tutorial I followed: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qim... I'm SUPER excited because I have an idea. I can take the height map generated by the noise function and cut it into chucks so my AI will have navigation regions and not lag! #gamedev #procedural 1103 10

MaybeTall @maybetall.itch.io · 09/10/2025I added a flying enemy and the first "boss" battle sequence. I guess the game has a win condition now! Also, I made a giant map to test on. It's not much, but it's mine. 000 0
MaybeTall @maybetall.itch.io · 08/10/2025From the folder where the export is (I named mine index.html to automatically load thew game, otherwise you need to do "localhost:5173/[filename].html" to load the game. This just runs a load webserver on your machine. 110 1
MaybeTall @maybetall.itch.io · 08/10/2025One of my favorite things to do when working in Godot is set up web exports, then run a local webserver with hot reloading. Every time I export the game to web, every localhost machine playing the game reloads. Combining web dev experience with game development is really fun. 150 5
