Love is a choice. And I've chosen my partner every day for the past 10 years. Soon, I'll be making a binding promise to choose them again and again for the rest of my life. Happy Valentine's. 💗

.......yeah, if anyone needs me, I'm staying here and bracing.

Finished my first full script and the scripts in the backburner are just piling up. I'll go back to full production mode after real life calms down, but I'm very excited for this year and everything that's coming. 💗

Always love going to Japan. Hopefully next year will be the start of me going with friends and my soon-to-be spouse then. 💗

do you ever read your own writing and wonder how tf you got there? i swear some of it can not possibly have come from the same brain that can’t form a coherent sentence now

i’m not saying you need to read gore in order to be intelligent but you do need basic reading comprehension which includes navigating complex and controversial concepts, without which there is no expansion of your knowledge

My current inspiration with how they make their visual novels is Black Tabby Games. Slay the Princess and Scarlet Hollow have just been such amazing experiences to play through with not a dull moment in sight. Goals, man. They're such goals.

Wonder how long it'll take for different media to realize that you can't cover up bad writing with everything else in a thing. Because it's one thing when writing isn't needed in a work, but it's another when you throw glitter on the problem and pray it blinds the audience to not see the flaws.

Personal rule with lore? Either make as much as you LIKE or make as much as you USE. They're not mutually exclusive, but pick which is more important Making it for fun? Former. Doing something with it like story, content, etc.? Latter. Slim down only to what you'll show. Keep the rest to trivia.

Maya Oracion @maybemayawrites.bsky.social · 08/11/2024

Going to give up on one of my current story ideas. I think it's still a good plot that may help others but with the current landscape with AI, now is definitely not the time to make it.

....yep, I'm definitely ignoring the 4th game and making my own lore for the final book of my fic.

010

Maya Oracion @maybemayawrites.bsky.social · 28/10/2024

My take on lore for characters? There are two schools of thought: - make as much lore as you LIKE (where your happiness matters) - make as much lore as you'll USE (where if you won't use it, don't think about it) Not mutually exclusive, but food for thought.

Never ask me my opinion if you aren't prepared for honesty. I'll hold back some bits for people I care about but... if I don't have anything good to say, I won't lie through my teeth and pretend I like it.

Maya Oracion @maybemayawrites.bsky.social · 24/10/2024

Taking the chance for a writing break by December so I can just have time to myself and my stories. I'm already chipping away at a story day by day now and trying to make it a habit. But it'd be nice to just...focus.

Been working on an idea for ages. Did a ton of research, watched a relevant and absolutely terrible movie just for the backdrop, you name it. Can't quite nail the plot. Went to the shops while I thought about it. Came back with halloumi, limes, and a full plot... FOR A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BOOK.

I'll probably create so long as someone loves my work. It can be the public at large, a small community, my loved ones, or even just myself, alone in my room and looking at my creation with a smile. I'm still someone. And I love creating. Therefore, I'll keep going.

i feel like we hate on cliches too much, and use the word cliche as an insult or a con in terms of writing but things are only cliche because they're good, they've only become cliches because people love them so much, i don't mind cliches if they're done well enough honestly

Writing Community re-introduction time. Writers respond with your own intros! I go by either Created or Maya, but Maya Oracion is my pen name. I've dabbled in writing games, fanfics and scripts, and have WIPs for them all. My favorite #wip atm though is a fantasy novel centered around regret. :3
