We visited Wycoller in October 2023. It really is an enchanting place I’d love to visit again someday🧡

Wie schön!! Da kommen schöne Erinnerungen hoch! Ich hab mit meinen Eltern vor ca. 50 (😳🤯) Jahren Urlaub in Berchtesgaden gemacht und da haben wir unter anderem den Zauberwald besucht. Hat mich alles sehr beeindruckt damals als Flachlandkind😍

I regularly listen to the Beatles Books Podcast, and every time I think I really must read that book! 😂 But I can never decide which one to choose. I’ve seen Maconie’s book is available as an audiobook. Perhaps that’s the answer, as listening is much easier for me than reading in English! 😊

Interesting ! I didn’t know any of this. Thanks for telling me! 😊 I’m a slow reader in English and still have a few unread Beatles books on the shelf. Haven’t decided which one to get next… but I do have a birthday before Christmas, so perhaps I should start dropping a few hints myself! 😄📚

Oh, I hadn’t heard about the new book! Or perhaps I’ve forgotten about it, there are so many new Beatles books coming out all the time!😅 I didn’t know Hunter Davies was from Cumbria either. Thanks for sharing, Mick! His Beatles biography was actually the very first Beatles book I owned and read.😊

I’m glad you had such a good experience in Germany! I’ve only ever met friendly and helpful people in the UK too. Germany has beautiful places, but Britain’s natural landscapes, greenery, national parks and culture keep drawing us back again and again. It simply feels like home. ❤️

Oh, I didn’t know about that! 😊 I’m German and only visit the Dales on holiday, so I don’t get to hear programmes like that. But I’m fascinated by the UK and its history, and I love learning more about the places I visit. The Dales in particular have a very special place in my heart. 😊

Thank you! We used to stay at the ‘Bridge House’ in Muker. But since the (incredibly lovely) hosts moved away, we’ve been spending our holidays in a cottage in Askrigg, where we feel right at home, or even better. There are stunning views and lovely footpaths almost on our doorstep.
