It’s chilly today. Cats are discussing putting heating on.

I am going to play my favourite album Homecoming by America. To remind myself of ‘Ventura Highway in the sunshine’ and dear friends there who are so kind, funny and generous.

Good morning Kitty. Bright autumn sunshine after yesterday’s rain. A day to treat ourselves to the small pleasures. A walk, lovely coffee and a good book. If you are a cat add chicken to this list😺.

What a beautiful cat Hettie. Sunshine here today. Truly the US is a dark place.

Good morning Mushen and Beans. Have a lovely day. Beans looking like he’ll pass on Mr Blobby but chicken will be acceptable.

The very least you can you for the King.

Good morning Hettie. It is a chilly start but sunny in East Anglia. The US is no longer a civilised place I fear. If this is the destination then it wasn’t worth the journey.

The friends we make at work are so important. I have a small group from my time in the civil service. Two of us started on the same day. We message each other and although we are retired and scattered we try to be there for each other. It’s tough out there starting work.

Sounds great hope everything is going well for him in his new job.

Hello Mushen and Beans. Blustery up here today. Exercise class this morning and now relaxing with a book. Enjoy the time with your son over the weekend. Have you batch baked cottage pies ready for the trip?

mayaand33.bsky.social @mayaand33.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Good morning Mushen and Beans. Bright start after welcome rain of yesterday. Chilly though up here. Winding down to the weekend. Let the day drift by if you can.

In the meantime Sue do care for yourself too. Shock at losing a friend hits us so very hard. Little things small treats like a cake or lovely soap now and then both for you and your friend.

Absolute trail blazer. A woman of great integrity.

So sorry for your for friend and for for you Sue.

Good morning Mushen and Beans. Very foggy up here in East Anglia. Still mild and dry but definitely autumn. At least it’s Tuesday not Monday. Take care.

Stamford? A gem one of my favourite places.

Good afternoon Hettie, hoping Gracie is fully recovered. Dylan appears a bit hungrover after his birthday last week. Holly making the most of the sunshine but grumbling that the mornings are chilly.

110

mayaand33.bsky.social @mayaand33.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Hope your day slip by and you are soon in your lovely car on the way home. Still hoping for rain here but lots of clearing up done in the garden yesterday. Overslept this morning as a result. Onwards to the weekend and a visit to your son.

Most people, certainly those I know earn considerably less than 100k. What is her definition of hard work ?Hard in the physical sense or long hours in challenging work places etc. Another waste of an expensive education.

021

mayaand33.bsky.social @mayaand33.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Exactly our situation. I suspect this is the same for so many. Unfairness in the tax system hits modest incomes and savings hardest.

120

mayaand33.bsky.social @mayaand33.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Without raising the PA then can’t see how those on full amount of state pension will avoid it. I have modest occupational pension so already pay tax. One department paying out only for another to recover it has always seemed pointless. HMRC should be addressing avoidance!

mayaand33.bsky.social @mayaand33.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

My sympathies, we had none over the bank holiday weekend here. Anglian are dreadful too. Yet at the bottom of the hill water is still flowing from a burst main.

mayaand33.bsky.social @mayaand33.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Good morning Mushen and lovely Beans. Roast potatoes are definitely an art. This morning I have hairdressers. Much needed cut and colour. Dylan rocks that silver grey as does Beans, me not so much. Holly suggests some blue around the ears like hers. Humans need fur!

110

mayaand33.bsky.social @mayaand33.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Oh poor Gracie. Get well soon little one. Such a worry when they aren’t well.

111

mayaand33.bsky.social @mayaand33.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

I have never watched it Jenny. A long list of programmes I don’t watch as they don’t appeal to me. A matter of personal choice I guess. Sadly I rarely watch anything on the BBC, Shetland is the exception.

mayaand33.bsky.social @mayaand33.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

We both qualify for free covid vacs as we have weakened immune systems. Sorry that you have to pay for the covid vacs. I feel strongly that there are too many exclusions. For instance my SiL has both asthma and a heart issue and she does not qualify.

mayaand33.bsky.social @mayaand33.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

Absolutely Tony. We have two excellent pharmacies close by. Both are Britannia. Have booked our COVID and flu vacs. Staff are very efficient and extremely kind when dealing with prescriptions. We had the home delivery service after husband’s bypass surgery. Superb service, Ali the lovliest man.

Thank you Mushen and Beans. He is following family tradition by making his birthday last a week.

Thank you Kate. Fifteen years of being a very good boy. Being chief cat is hard work.

He says thank you Tony. Has had a lovely day presents, chicken tea. He is a character, chief cat!

Happy Birthday Dylan, my very best boy is 15 today. Celebrating the day relaxing in the sunshine and chicken from M&S. He sends regards to his friends.

A politician finally holds up a mirror to the media manipulation and greed that has brought us here. Most need care as we age. Only the very rich are able to afford it currently. My husband’s late aunt received very basic levels of care. Total cost around £127,000. Her home had to be sold.

000

mayaand33.bsky.social @mayaand33.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

I suspect most of us were brought up in homes of rather modest means. We were always taught to pay our way. What sort of person accepts lavish gifts, holidays etc?

020

mayaand33.bsky.social @mayaand33.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

Thank you, the same to you and Beans. Dylan is 15 today. Happy Birthday Papagena Caradoc. Living his best life.

Good morning Mushen and Beans at least it’s Tuesday. Felt chilly last night and early this morning. Slim chance of rain later. Hope the day goes well.

Hello Kitty. So lovely to catch up. Hoping the side effects begin to fade and you feel like your new self. How is your dear cat? On Weds Dylan will be 15 seems unbelievable, he expects lots of chicken and a day of treats. What a gorgeous little boy Ralf is. Suddenly the world feels nicer.

Beautiful painting Hettie. My little house and garden are Farage free zones. That also applies to an ever growing list of undesirables.
