🎉 Celebrating the 6th Anniversary of Our Orbitrap Fusion Lumos Mass Spectrometer! 🎉 Installed in May 2019, last week we celebrated the 6th birthday of our incredible Orbitrap Fusion Lumos mass spectrometer. This makes it our oldest instrument in terms of those used for global proteomics studies.

The MPC is headed by Prof. Dr. Katrin Marcus-Alic and our focus is on the proteomic analysis and characterisation of body fluids, tissue samples, cell culture and model organisms in the context of clinical research.

How did I get into proteomics? Inspired by a survey of @proteomicsnews.bsky.social, I reflected on my motivation for diving into proteomics research. During my Master’s studies, I prepared a paper for a literature seminar using TMT labelling to study changes in the vitreous and retina in glaucoma.
