iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

I made the questionable choice of working in two different fics simultaneously. Agate Blue and a new warrior cats fic project. This has halved the speed at which I churn out chapters in half, which was already something like 1.5 chapters a month, woops.

Writing a smaller secondary non PMD project has made me realize how important bouncing ideas with people and just discussing the process is for me. It feels weird not doing that and I sincerely miss it, but I don't want to shackle myself to PMD even if it's my main thing and will continue being.

Something I would like to do at some point is co-author a story with someone else, but that's not something I would like or look for right now, not in the next two or three years at least. I need to finish a work or two and fully figure out my style before that.

I want to stay up late writing so badly, but everything points to the fact that such is a bad idea. Weh. Tomorrow it will be.

Recognizing the art style of someone in the wild is neat. I just saw a post by an artist of a comic I follow and as soon as I saw the art I was like: This has to be them. It was! The fact that a style can be instantly recognized with no context is so cool. Reminds me of how each artist is special.

I have realized that I don't play as much video games in my free time as I used to. I absolutely adore videogames and there's a bunch I want to play, but if I have free time 8/10 times my mind goes. 'Free time huh? aight let's write fanfiction.'

Woke up philosophical today. I believe that life is without meaning, but that only means that we gotta assign said meaning ourselves, it can be anything. My meaning is storytelling, I chose this and yet, my soul was made for storytelling and writing. Is the only thing that makes life have meaning.

I'm realizing that the levels of research I have pulled off for making freaking PMD fanfiction is unreal. The extremes go from the process of making bread in the pre industrial era to the SPIKES protocol for giving a patient in a hospital bad news. Honestly unreal.

When I listen to music I imagine the band and/or singer as pokemon performing on a stage for more pokemon. All PMD style of course. My brain has been completely overtaken by pokemon in all shapes and forms and I accept that with open arms.

I have been thinking lately about how it must feel to go blackout drunk. I can't drink due to medical reasons so I have never even tasted it despite being an adult, but the thought has crossed my mind. How would that feel? How would the drink taste?

One thing that I worry about constantly when writing is my prose. I can ensure it's grammatically correct and has good punctuation, but how do I know if it's objectively good? Truth is I simply cannot know, and I just silently hope I'm improving with each chapter even if I can't see it.

I want to get into a new game so bad, (PMD EoS), but I really should focus on the games I'm "currently" playing and not add more to the list. The amount of started games is ridiculous. Deltarune, Persona 5, Palworld, Frostpunk. But noooo I want to add another one. Of course.

A picture with two versions of the same swampert character. On the left the character looks like a hero from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon with a green scarf while on the right the character is an anthro/Furry version wearing a jacket instead of a scarf.

I was thinking, perhaps people I have known for a long time are surprised when they see me swear when I was known to have super clean speech. I'm no sailor nor swear like one, but yeah... I don't really mind swearing anymore, that aversion to swearing was stupid. People change all and all I guess.

One way I develop characters is what I call the "sandbox method" where I put multiple characters in a situation and see what happens. I have done this many times. when romance happens it usually is yaoi, plenty of yaoi. I mean the mind concocts what it wants I guess, but there should be variety yk.

Something I don't understand why we do as a society is ask "how are you?" When talking with someone if the only valid response is I'm fine, I'm okay, I'm good. Isn't it all pointless then? I propose an alternative. "What have you been up to?" More avenues for conversation without being fake.

Talking with a friend about Batman's scarecrow fear toxin. The thing makes your worst fear manifest. How would that work with abstract fears? My worst fear is brain damage, if the scarecrow fear gassed me what would I see? Makes me think.
