I feel very fortunate to be among that minority, but there are very few comic specific (if any) public funding opportunities. Most come under the 'book' umbrella, so we're competing against a much bigger sector when applying for funding.

My pal misheard me on the phone to my wife after my car broke down and he thought I'd referred to my car as 'Mabel'. He asked me later why we'd chosen that name and it took a loooong time for me to figure out what he was talking about. I think he'd misheard me saying 'maybe'.

Boba Fett Enemy of the Empire by John Wagner and Ian Gibson. Also enjoyed the Marvel Lando Calrissian comics which were more about Lobot than Lando.

I remember my first corn on the cob. Dinner at a high school pal's before he headed off to Australia for several weeks. Funny how things stick in the memory.

I have a father-of-the-bride speech to write (thankfully have a lot of time), but I just can't see how to fit in a "Gott in Himmel" or "Achtung Spitfeuer". Out of my depth...

I read Speed, the new Eagle and Scream as a kid. Comics from Barrie are in my DNA. Grateful for all he did.

I build dioramas using Star Wars figures and vehicles to depict scenes from the movies, tv shows and games, with the aim of providing comic cons and scifi events some unique attraction opportunities. My calendar is filling up fast, but I'm avaliable for bookings. #starwars #diorama #scifi #comiccon

A series of images depicting dioramas built using action figures and toy vehicles to depict scenes from the Star Wars universe. The Battle of Hoth, Wampa cave, Jabba's palace and the Emperor's throneroom.

The 90th anniversary flight of the #Spitfire is today. The aircraft first saw combat over the River Forth in October 1939, defending against a raid of JU-88s hunting for HMS Hood. Read the story in my comic Raid on the Forth (link in bio & comments)

I guess they raided GitHub and other repositories for code. It's certainly impacting jobs and my coder pal is considering early retirement. However, we're now starting to see people selling themselves as 'Vibe Coding fixit specialists' (those who can fix the problems with AI generated code).
