OK, if all we needed was more investments in new things. But we also have to invest in maintaining/improving the old. The care economy is drowning in stories about inadequate access, lengthening waits, deteriorating quality, and rising costs. The fix isn't private. It's public and it needs tax $$.

Are they a threat to democracy? Most probably. Their track record is not the best, especially at the local level. But you have to take into account the fact that the "center" (i.e Macron) have passed many laws that are extremely problematic and putting democracy in danger. 2/
